Exactly.

It is said that he was a bit lethargic at the rally in NJ yesterday.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Things happen to leaders that lead from the front.

You know, instead of from their bunker.

Hasn't happened to Putin, yet, and Putin's bunker is a lot deeper than Biden's.

Did I mention either Putin or Biden?

And who has the deepest bunker? Is this a bunker measuring contest?

Nor did I mention the glorious Chinese leadership, I bet they have some BIG bunkers!

Interesting how you tried to twist my innocent little observation into an international political incident. You should turn yourself in to the nearest UN observer...

Or maybe a group of ... (self censored, it was good). winkngrin

He puts too much stock in showing off how tough he is to allow any sign of weakness, including catching a disease that's hit nearly every corner of the globe. I think Putin's going to be like all the Communist leaders of the Soviet Union. "He has the sniffles" means he's been dead for a week.

The thing I'm concerned is, Trump will totally come out like "This virus is weak. Time to open up the country."

I hope the best for President Trump and his family. I just hope this changes some attitudes, so that I don't find myself in another situation where I feel odd being the only white dude in a small equally mixed group of about a dozen customers wearing a mask. I just don't like the situation, but I'm not going to gamble on who's right or wrong about the effectiveness of wearing a mask when it's only a slight inconvenience.

And if you want to wear a mask wear one. I just wish that people would stop shaming the people who don't. I've seen actual statistics that convince me that they're not the big deal that their proponents make them out to be.

So as not to go down a dark road on the Community Hall forum, I'd be happy to provide what I've got to anyone interested through pm.

Even if masks were 99% ineffective, at least it's a constant, if slightly irritating reminder that "we're not in Kansas anymore." That I should keep my distance and touch nothing, which is easy to forget when you don't have a reason to get out much (95% for me has been medical checkups and appointments).

But I personally wouldn't shame anyone either way and haven't seen anyone else doing this in real life.

EDIT: This does not include going, almost daily, to our local walking track. So we do get out and about, just not so much where people are.

Operating room personnel have been wearing masks for decades and no one has ever claimed that it was unnecessary or harmful.

Because operating room personnel never had to realistically worry about infecting themselves through mask usage.

I very much hope that is the result, as that would match reality.

This incident is also a demonstration that the daily testing is not a panacea, either.

Which, frankly, is a significant reason I oppose universal mask wearing. Unless one is over 70 and/or has one of a few identified significant medical problems, "we are in Kansas," and have been for months Since there is no reason to think any measure we take is ever going to eliminate COVID-19, and since it is quite obvious that it will not overwhelm our healthcare system, there is no reason most young or middle aged people should be wearing masks, physical distancing, etc.

Then let's replace Kansas with Louisiana. As you know being a previous resident, we have our own issues (I *personally* know of overweight teenage high BP and also diabetes complications at my age) so I can see why locally we'd want to keep our guard up and masks on. And also not bring home anything to older (not necessarily elderly) family members who are often unhealthy themselves.

Hell, my two favorite local news guys (one black, one white, both in their mid-20's?) button their ill-fitting coats with a single button which looks as if it might become a dangerous (to the other guy) projectile at any moment! The black guy scared us recently with heavy breathing during his segment, later reassuring the viewers that he didn't have COVID-19. The other day they were discussing coronary, I mean colonary culinary delights, and the white dude was seriously making me want to try something called a "Breakfast Baconator" from Wendy's! readytoeat

Maybe you shouldn't have crossed out and corrected "colonary", either. wink

Replace the word 'mask' with 'religion' and everyone would quickly agree that it is rude and improper for anyone to try and impose their personal religious beliefs upon another. However, too many think it is their right and privilege to force the cult-like mask mania on those who simply refuse to acknowledge their legitimacy.

I've been confronted by idiots like that and it took all my willpower not to punch them for their self-important rudeness and impudence.

I seen people walk into stores with masks on cos they can't enter without it and then take them off once they are in. But at restaurants you have to wear a mask to enter and you can take it off to eat and drink.

Because Religion and the science of how diseases spread are totally the same thing...
