I'm not sure if this has had any exposure here already? It looks 'interesting' but I can't decide exactly from the video what style the gameplay will take and how 'sim' it will be.

It reminds me a bit of Destroyer Command, don´t know if you remember that one Chucky.
One of the cool things that Destroyer Command had is that you could play online against a friend who had Silent Hunter, can´t remember which version of SH but you could intergrate both platforms in one multiplayer session which was a great feature! I did try it with a friend way back then and although we had some issues, I remember we did get it to work. It wasent the most stable of online play but that could have been due to the connections of the era, and or bug issues.
Great concept though, wish something alike would arise some day...
Destroyer Command (SSI):
But back to the topic, it does look real cool, and really like the plotting mechanics
Will have to keep this one on radar
Thanks Chucky!

The thing I disliked about DC was that you couldn't make a smokescreen, so no firing torps and darting back into cover, which was more or less the standard tactic against other surface forces. A mod added smokescreens but they were cosmetic and didn't affect spotting. This new one looks like it's at least as good a ship simulator as DC and dare I say it, that it is (or includes) single player. Have just finished reading Bob Whinney's 'U Boat Peril' (which isn't another Battle of the Atlantic pocket history, but his own career as an RN officer from BBs to DDs as an A/S specialist) so this looks particularly interesting.

Thanks, yeah could not remember which one.
But as I said, it was a great concept to be able to join both platforms. With todays bandwidth and gaming tech, this would be awesome to play, a true cat and mouse naval warfare. Yeah I know you can do that in World of Warships now, but there´s not the same level of detail as SH2 and DC in WOW.
For a moment it´s been fun remembering those old days of SH2 and DC. SSI had some cool games, it was one of my favorite publishers of the era.

A DD sim limited to anti-submarine warfare would not interest me much. But if I could also provide AAA support for the fleet, engage in surface actions in the Slot and provide fire support for Marines on Guadalcanal etc. then I'd be interested.
