It's good to hear you resolved that issue. Do you use an Nvidia or AMD card? I can't recall if I used the full screen optimization option when I played the game.

It's on by default, and has to be disabled by right-clicking the exe. I'm using a GTX 1660Ti (AMD CPU though). This was one of the fixes I read about after searching out the issue. Was the first thing I tried and it worked. Still in the Caspian level but just a few things to mop up before moving on.This was a good gear level and now rolling with the Bulldog (like a TAR-21, bullpup rifle), the Shambler (Saiga) and the Tikhar which cannot be swapped out it seems. The gunplay is good as it's always been in this series. Complete darkness, but a blinding light from a headlamp and gunsmoke obscuring the sight picture with shouts from the enemy reverberating through the corridors as I squeeze off short controlled bursts at fleeting glimpses of an enemy behind cover. It just drips with atmosphere. Nothing new but I really enjoy it.

Same feeling here. I also think that the series is done because I just simply don't see where the developers can take the Metro series now. Story-wise I think everything has been pretty much explored and resolved.

There is a game in the works, whether it sees the light of day (clever, yes?) or not remains to be seen.

https://www.gamesradar.com/metro-exodus-sequel-confirmed/

I think it will be back in the Metro and while I like the open atmosphere of Exodus I would welcome a return to the underground.

Same here. I’ve come to the conclusion that the vast majority of people who play IL-2 play it in single player mode only. Even at peak times such as a Saturday afternoon I will see at most 3-4 Cooperative servers and about 10 dogfight servers. Several of these servers will also be empty or nearly empty.

Most of my time is actually MP with a friend, however I have started the "Lightning Strikes" campaign.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise! Thanks for the link. If Glukhovsy himself mentions that the story isn't quite over yet then I'm confident he has some good ideas up his sleeve.

It's excellent and I hope you enjoy it but I am not from Prague smile

Did you play either 2033 or Last Light?

Exodus would make more sense from a narrative point of view having played the first two, but of course not necessary. If you like Exodus you could always play the other two afterwards. If you do, look for the 'redux' versions.

Thanks DBond doing some reading and think I'll do one of the first two first The hardware requirements are a bit lighter but reading reviews and such seems like a good break from my flight sims

I played Last Light first, but 2033 is the first game in the series. I think Last Light is a better game, but I liked them both. I'd start with that one if not going straight for Exodus. Purely subjective however. I liked everything about Last Light aside from the few boss battles which I hated. Great atmosphere, good story, cool gunplay with some neat weaponry. A little scary at times and a nice pace overall.Lots of little side stories, take your time and listen in on the NPC conversations as you move through the Metro. Some folks skip right past all of that, but for me it's one of the series' charms. I'd like to be able to play it again for the first time quite honestly. Didn't expect much going in but by the end it was one of my favorite shooters. Quite unique and atmospheric in my view. My view however is not universally held by all smile

Thanks DBond..Think I'll play them in the proper order..Winters coming and I like long plays and need to give things like Total war Shogun/Empire a rest and get some fresh play..And I figure the Metro series will fill the time..My shooter games have been Ghost Recon..COD,,ARMA Gold..Just decided it was time for some new games..Not getting around a lot lately and the pup doesn't talk much so need something different to get solidly into and naturally fly some

No Man's Sky. I've dabbled with it before, but this time legally on the M$ store with Game Pass wink

It's a lot different from what I remember. First thing was to turn off 3rd person. I HATE that and will dictate whether or not I will play a game.

Yep, bought it recently and I'm enjoying it a lot... I like most games when you have to explore and find stuff!

I'm playing Half Life 2: Update which has some pretty well done graphical improvements. I last played Half Life 2 about 14 years ago so I had forgotten just how much the game is inspired by George Orwell's "1984".

I was searching for something else that lead me to this thread and as I scanned through it I noticed that I posted in it THREE times, each time as if I had not posted in it before. This old age memory loss crap is a pain! LOL

At least each time I was consistent and remembered what I was actually playing biggrin

I think I know the feeling biggrin

Edit:
As I haven't actually achieved it in this thread yet, I'll kick it off;
Divinity Original Sin 2 (play with friends)
DCS (TrackIR, I like the resolution & keyboard access)
MSFS 2020 (TrackIR, I like the resolution & keyboard access)
Automobilista 2 (For the great VR experience, I'm no racing driver smile works great right in the headset, no need to fumble with the keyboard)
Richard Burns Rally (VR again. Best rally game out there & can be got for free)

Just got me a new PC after nearly 10 years and wanted to `stress test` it with the new MS Flightsimulator which then quickly led to boredom and playing around with the IL-2 Great Battle series and buying some more of the modules/planes for it.
Only to end up getting the PE edition of Wings over Flanders Fields and enjoying the brilliant WW1 atmosphere and trying to survive as long as possible with my virtual pilot of FFA 19 flying in the Verdun area of late 1915.

Also started playing the new Blitzkrieg DLC for Unity of Command 2 and the PC demo for the upcoming new Dragon Quest XI game. The later being a JRPG I played on the Switch for awhile but never finished it although I really enjoyed it but got distracted with other things.

Time is the only luxury.

I have been playing Star Control Origins lately and kinda wish I had played it on release. Really charming game!

The reason I waited so long was because there was a big fuss about Stardock producing the game without the original Star Control 1 & 2 creators' blessings. Sometime in the last year, though, they worked out their issues and the creators were released from legal injunction on making their own sequel, so now everyone is happy. Stardock has done a great job so far capturing the essence of awesome in Star Control 2.
