So PrivateFly had a list of the world's most scenic airports and I have visited a few so far in MSFS2020. Feel free to add your own favorites to this list!!

Here they are in the magazine shot, and in MSFS. V cool to be able to replicate this kind of thing!

What about Milford Sound, NZ?

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Agree, truly beautiful. The flight from Queenstown to Milford sound is breathtaking - makes me want to get VR.

Milford sound itself, as with most places that just rely on BING maps is lovely from altitude or at a distance

And in some places

But unfortunately along the sound and on many slopes around it, there is a lot of stretching that spoils the joy. BING doesn't seem to capture the altitude of the mountains around the sound correctly, as you can see in the RL comparison and videos of landings etc. Won't show the ugly bits! On the plus side, it appears NZ has escaped the terrain altitude probs that plague eg Greenland: there are none of the some bottomless holes or towering monoliths that MSFS has mapped onto Greenland. I was really worried about that but it isn't a factor as far as I saw on this trip, so you can really sit back and enjoy the view.

I fell in love with Milford Sound when ORBX first released their version of it for FSX.
MSFS has a few problems such as gaps in the textures along the sound but its still an OK default airport, especially compared to the default versions of it in FS9, FSX and P3d which are a total mess of terrain mesh errors.
Hopefully ORBX will eventually release their version for MSFS.

I don't get how they can get the terrain elevations so wrong. Isn't it 'just' a matter of feeding elevation data into the BING maps model? I know using a WAG algorithm saves time but it leads to much ugly ... elevated lakes, monoliths, rivers that go uphill, huge holes... and mountains represented as hills. But I guess that's what they are doing bit by bit as for Japan.
