I really can't make my mind up about this game. Reviews overall are good but I'm worried about the 'boring' aspect of the game that I keep seeing mention of.

It's currently 25% off on Epic and I can get a further £10 off that with a coupon but that still makes the game £31.24 which is more than I usually pay for any game just lately.

Any SimHQ members (especially those that own it) got any thoughts on it,good or bad?

I'm looking for a sort of chill-out game that doesn't involve a lot of frantic action.

I've passed on it a number of times, even though Hideo Kojima makes some grood games. there is probably a good game there, and as you say reviews are good. But it seems like it's a courier simulator which has little appeal for me, but I suspect that is selling it short. It looks great from a graphics point of view, but some of the mechanics I suspect would grow tiring over time, like the need to continually balance your load as you traverse uneven ground. Or maybe I don't really understand it. Well, I'm sure I don't, just going off the many reviews I have read.

His games are worth my attention, but I think this one just isn't for me.

I'm interested to see what others think, especially those who have played it.

Haven't played it yet, but I would wait until it is at a price for which it is ok for it to be a mispurchase. That is what i'm doing with it.

For chill-out games that don't involve a lot of frantic action, I can recommend the following (Steam Score in brackets):

- Everybody's gone to the Rapture (70%)
- Firewatch (87%)
- Dear Esther (79%)
- Over the Alps (93%)
- Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (90%)
- The 39 Steps (more of a digital novel than an actual game, scores 80%)
- 80 Days (93%)
- Return of the Obra Dinn (96%)
- Unforeseen Incidents (90%)

How about a computer chess game? That fits the bill for "chill out and no frantic action". smile

Thanks Panzer but that requires using my brain too much. Plus I'm not a fan of chess.

Thanks for the list Vaderini,I'll look through them. And yeah,I think if it goes in a sale with a greater discount I will get it. I mean it's Norman Reedus smile I think I first discovered him when I watched 'The Boondock Saints'.

The last Hideo Kojima game I played was Metal Gear Solid, and I have not wanted to play any of his games since(with the exception of the predictable 80s classic Snatcher). Why? Because he's way too darned verbose with his cutscenes. "Get to the point" was not a lesson he learned.

Also, "No Man's Sky" is a great chill out game.

The overall gameplay and many of the design choices are highly questionable, but it has its flashes of brilliance here and there.

IMO Terraria is a better game than Minecraft, but it isn't chill. Boss fights and progression means you are always striving for the next goal.

Minecraft can be as chill as you want. Just turn mob spawns to less violent and Survival mode can be way chill. Creative mode is super chill.

Interesting... my son who bought this game also commented that it's a "postman simulator". Not for me, no tanks or aircraft.

"You'll never take me alive" said he,
And his ghost may be heard if you pass by that billabong
"Who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me?"

I understand that there is a lot of story telling via long cut scenes. That may well be a bridge too far for me,it's one thing I can't tolerate too much of.

Its nowhere near as tedious as in TLOU2 IMO, the gameplay is the issue.
