This morning is toasted English muffins with butter and honey on them.

Plus coffee.

My breakfasts lately have had fancy-dancy names like Italian Frittata. A new favorite of mine is oven baked oatmeal in a pie pan with browned crust, loaded with chopped peaches or nectarines.

My breakfast is usually just 2 cups of coffee but occasionally I'll make a trip to my nearby Burger King and get a couple of breakfast sandwiches.

Local newsguy gave this a nice endorsement, but I think I'll pass.

I recently had a burger made from chickpeas and it was...ok. The buns were made from scratch and were awesome though!

No match for ground beef or even ground sirloin roast (we pick the meat and the grocery butcher grinds it for us), but an occasional veggie burger is a nice break from red meat. I could do without cow or pig for a while if I had to, also chicken/turkey. I just gotta have seafood.

That's kind of how we made our pies for a Saturday in the public bar of the hotel.
Take the trimmings of a whole sirloin, we usually got two complete sirloins delivered on a Friday to do the restaurant in the hotel for Friday and Saturday evening meals, the trimmings would be coarse minced and cooked up in a spiced gravy and put in Scotch pie cases and then topped with mashed potatoes then baked in the oven, we could not keep up with demand and they sold out faster than we could make them even with two large ovens baking them.
My father was Robert, so the pies got called Bob's Beefy Pies by the customers smile (going by my father's large frame I always wondered if it should have been Beefy Bob's Pies wink )

That's so cool, Alicatt! thumbsup

I enjoy seeing how the people of SimHQ around the globe eat and live (and of course the music they listen to).

++++++++++

Late lunch today and we needed something quick and simple, what I do best...

[Linked Image]

- Cut a wrap into 8 pieces (like pizza) and cook on stovetop with a little Colby Jack melted on top.
- Scissor cut baby spinach.
- Tomato pieces.
- Avocado pieces.
- Sour cream.
- Topped with small amount of grated Mozzarella.
- Sliced black olives (on mine).

Missing: Homemade salsa.
