Most of us on SimHQ probably watched the launch and subsequent explosion live on television when it happened, and it was one of the saddest, most shocking moments that we'll remember.
I did. Live as a kid.
The word "Martyr" is just a fancy name for "crappy fighter".

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
1) "Extra Ordinary" - an odd, funny, pseudo horror movie. I chuckled a bit, wasn't bad, 2.75 stars out of 4.
2) "High Wall" - black and white movie from 1947. The plot was well paced, good dialogue, writing and acting, better than many of the more modern movies I have seen. 3 stars out of 4.

Just got home from working night shift and was going to bed. My Mother ran a day care at the time and it was not easy. Just fell asleep and she hollers down, Turn on your TV. The shuttle just blew up. Did not sleep for 3 days.

My wife has been watching this and liked it, not following it myself but seen some of it and it looks good.
Started a Turkish series last night on Netflix called The Gift or Atiye in Turkish, a psychological thriller set partly in Istanbul and at Gobekli Tepe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXE7MkPXicM Trailer is in Turkish but the Netflix series is dubbed into English - oh and the english subtitles don't quite match the spoken dubbing they have been sanitised a bit The only downside so far is the canned voice acting for the dubbing it lacks the emotion and passion of the original Turkish. The acting is quite good and the locations are excellent.

I absolutely can't stand any dubbing whatsoever. I am a 100% subtitles kind of guy!

Ah, so quite a while before the French lost "New France" to the British then.

You can at least select the language that is spoken in the series under the settings, and I do have the option for different subtitle languages.
I'm finding it interesting comparing the spoken dubbing to the subtitles.
We do have quite a large Turkish and Italian population around this area, not so much in our town but in the areas south and east of us, they came here at the turn of the century to work in the mines and stayed

I hope you are not offended. That isn’t the objective. We welcome new members.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.
New Netflix series came out today, by the American Horror Story creators and starring the same actress Sarah Paulson. I watch the first episode and they shoulda named this American Horror Story Chapter 10
Watching Interstellar good show even though I can't understand half of what's going on..I'm sure they took liberties with science but it's a good watch..just unable to understand the whole time.space and black hole thing
Must be a good day for remakes..Laid up with back issues and started surfing and found "The mummy' with tom Cruise from what I've seen so far it's better than the Brendan Fraser one or the first one with Boris Karloff ..
Here is an interesting video on a phenomenon I have noticed but never really though much about. Why Do Copy Cat Movies Exist?

Not to bore you folks with my classics but SGT.York is playing kind of hokey but a solid tale and doing a bit of research it's a good story ..Sorry if my posts are a bit heavy on the older films but the newer offerings just don't grab me
