rwatson, if I were you I would just go here
1. Japanese Mod Comm. 2x mod <--- Instructions
2. download links in 1st table all needed downloads in the links in the table.
download the latest 2.x mod, I think 2.2. Use Google Translate to interprets small bits at a time to decipher the Japanese writing and you can simply download the needed mods in those first 4 steps to take SF to 2.2 which really has a lot excellent modifications over the original game.
Delving further into the Japanese thread pages and translating will reveal even more mod downloads. Some of the downloads are on the 4shared website. This is an extremely spammy site, but there are a lot of SF mods hosted here for some reason. You will have to register, which I did successfully, recently, in order to make any downloads. Good luck, hope this helps.
I can highly recommend taking the time to make this Mod upgrade and can state that SF 2.2 is one of the most fun tank sims, possibly one of the most fun sims period, that I have played. Hope you enjoy. Of course, as any sim, there are some quirks, but none that I have encountered that put me off enjoying the game play, the graphics and especially the sound. Crank up your 5.1 and subwoofer empowered sound systems or surround headphones and be prepared to be startled when you are on the wrong end of an enemy's cannon round impacting your ride and most likely disabling it and ruining your otherwise enjoyable experience! Also the sounds of the general war going on around you are simply brilliant in my experience.

NP Sir. I still have ROF on my HD, but I haven't fired it up in a long while. I always enjoyed it and the Community which supported it. That was one of the last flight sims where I spent a good bit of time online. It was a really good sim except the crappy AI, always circling & circling down to the deck. I have FC now and I really enjoy it, but it just doesn't have the content that ROF does. My avatar pic is probably from 2013 when I signed up here as I do not ever remember changing it LOL.
Hope you enjoy SF 2.2. and remember, don't push T unless you really have to, it is quite time consuming and painful to watch but something a lot of other tank sims don't offer. LMAO. winkngrin

Like Blade said, this is the place to go for the mods, Edge will translate: https://wikiwiki.jp/pzfr/Steel%20Tank%20Add-on This will give you the STA 2.2 mod with all its extra content, plus the Japanese Community mod and Mission Pack. Follow the instructions on that page and enable in the exact order shown. After enabling, apply the 4GB patch to both shell.exe and starter.exe.

If you have an Nvidia card, Nvidia Inspector and the AA compatibility setting shown here (0x000012C1) will enable you to apply whatever AA setting you want; using NCP for AA corrupts the graphics. Apply to shell.exe not starter.exe.

The downloads are at the link Blade_Meister provided. It's kind of tricky since it's in Japanese but, I was able to download all four of the needed files. The downloads are in the first section that says MOD. Thanks again guys!

You're welcome rwatson! Also, I did not purchase the game thru STEAM for the simple fact, I wanted to be able to install it in the location of my choice to avoid any problems with installing the MOD. I purchased it for $14.99, the same as STEAM, at gamersgate.com.

Glad you gents are getting SF figured out. I hope you each will share some pics and your thoughts on what you think of this sim soon.
