Anyone else seen this? I love all of Christopher Nolan’s movies, with the possible exception of Dunkirk, which I found a bit.. bland. Anyway, Tenet was great. Right up there with Inception and The Prestige, my two favourite movies of his. What I like about his movies is that they are pretty much the only ones these days that don’t follow the same old movie tropes formula. They are really unique. Acting was good, I especially liked Robert Pattinson. I liked that you could follow the plot fairly well as it unwound, but in the final hour or so, everything came together and made you understand more of what you saw earlier. It is one of those movies that I will have to see a few times more to catch more and more details that I am sure I missed the first time.

Also a bit cool to see some shots of Oslo, my hometown, even if the airport scenes (TERRIBLY dramatic wink ) were filmed somewhere else - Frankfurt by the looks of it.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I am 100% sure I will like this movie but I won't be seeing it for a while longer. I may just wait until I can see it on Netflix or some other streaming service.

Waiting for it to be available on Netflix too.

Would like a sequel to Interstellar though. I had a feeling we only got half the story somehow.

Waiting for it to become available on home movie (digital rental or streaming)

Think the only movie I will see in the cinemas this year is Dune.

Same here but that's assuming that its US release date won't be pushed back. I have a feeling it will.

Looks cool. Will stream eventually.

Looks too complex for my old brain to comprehend in one viewing. old_simmer

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

Nolan's films are always complex and intelligent and thinking.

In my opinion some of the greatest films are those that compel you to watch them again so you can gain a better or different understanding of what happened. The prime example that comes to my mind is 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I do not think they are necessarily complex and intelligent, I think they rely on parlour tricks, similar to M. Nigh Shyamalan. He gives us the illusion of complexity through obfuscation, but make no mistake, because something appears to be complex does not make it so. I have been able to figure out every single one of his films that I have seen in the first watch and often before they are finished. To me, that is not complex.

2001, as Panzer points out, on the other hand, still leaves plenty of room for interpretation of the ending sequence, even after many viewings. Stanley Kubrick was an accomplished genius in his own right, but when combined with the intellect of Arthur C. Clarke? That produced quite something. And the genius of the film is the ending does not violate the established laws of the universe presented in the film, but instead builds upon them.

Nolan and Shyamalan often violate their own laws for the sake of appearing "clever," but these are simply a wave of the magician's wand.
