Just saw some Hurrican Tracker guy on YT...sorry didn't keep the link.
He placed a bunch of high tech wireless cams around TX and LA coasts.
The one in Cameron, LA was 9' above the ground...
It went under water and died around midnite. Sheriff says 150 people in Cameron refused to evacuate.
Not good.

Been there done that, much older boat though, in Katrina 2005.
This looks like a big modern pushboat with a large barge in front and obviously very well secured to a dock.
Skip to 3:21 if you just want to see the view from the boat's wheelhouse, although there is lots of other interesting damage footage. 130 mph winds on the guage on the pushboat. We had over 150 mph gusts where I was in Katrina.

A little wind and rain, spotty satellite, flickering lights but no power loss. Protected by distance.
Still have my porch furniture, just needs some leave and limb cleanup (pics below when it's sparkling clean). My fans keep spinning fast like I have them turned on.

Nixer, your pre-edited post was accurate for the area, no "oops" required.

bones and RSColonel_131st! Mine is Monday (53), going to celebrate by getting tooth #15 (upper left molar) drilled and shaved to be crowned (the last of my long-term dental work, will now have no more fillings to worry with).

I'm on day 25 of 90 of extreme self-improvement (body and mind) and my inner Gunny is grumbling that the storm break is over, to turn off the TV and get back to 80's lala land of boot camp study where the outside world is mostly just a crappy modern reality show.
Seriously guys...for your sanity, take in only as much of this world (at least how it's presented in the media) as you have to and try to use this unprecedented time as best as you can. My 90 days ends Nov. 1st., going to come back and show what a dumbass like myself can learn in such a short time (mainly math, programming, foreign language).

At least I'm getting a new themed playlist out of this.

That's a nice porch, Mark. I love those tiles! Spanish tiles?
Oops, missed this one. Nah, just brick pavers.

Watching this next one, this time it'll be far enough to the east of us I think.
Got my playlist ready. Thanks for the added tunes, guys!

Just finished watching some CA transplant FINALLY realizing it's time to move his wife and kids, but only to a high spot on Dolphin Island (mouth of Mobile bay).
Completely clueless internet, self promoting ho. His freakin crackerbox condo was coming apart before his eyes in tropical storm winds, with worse on the way.
He's talking about protecting his home...like wow, way too many super hero movies for this guy!
Long night indeed...and morning...heck, it's probably coming back towards me before landfall.
He's safe though, he has an Obama bicycle helmet.

Why didn't he just throw them all in his vehicle???
That guy is, well... talk about PTSD.
Decisions...
Gonna be lots more bad decisions made on the Gulf Coast, or should I say, have already been made.
I REALLY hope I am wrong.

That Sally is moving slowly at 3 mph, going NE, and won't clear the coastal areas for another 18 hours when it will weaken to a tropical storm. Current winds of 105 mph and dumping a lot of rain. I hope no one here is in the affected areas and in its path.

Ok, gas runs finished (topping off 2 cars and a truck, also a couple of 5-gallon portables), porch picked up and locked down. Nothing to do now but wait...
