A quick video in CFS3 putting the Spitfire Mk.II through its paces during the Battle of Britain. About 12 Spitfires vs about 70 Germans. Gets a bit hairy, and in retrospect I should have made my exit much sooner!

I may have to dust this off......Can't remember why this sim didn't achieve the popularity of IL2. Ai seems more intuitive, sounds more authentic and no unrealistic sniper bomber gunners!

I played quite a bit of CFS 3 back in the day and I seem to recall that it wasn't nearly as moddable as IL-2 was. The mission editor was also much easier to use in IL-2 for creating new missions so that's really what sold IL-2 to the online players.

CFS3 has always been quite moddable (absolutely nothing you see or hear in the video is stock), but it was rushed out half-baked. Some saw the potential and stuck with modding it and have done some great things with it, but most saw the mess it was at the time and moved on to greener pastures.

So Similar to 'Cliffs of Dover' then.

Great video! The pilot breathing really added to the immersion and tension of the air battle. The water landing was exciting too ending up on shore in a sheep pasture.

I really tried to get into that flight sim but I ended up putting less than 10 hours of flight time into it before I dumped it and moved on. By the time Cliffs of Dover had been updated many times and somewhat improved I had already moved on to IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad.
