Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
At the beginning of the month the collaboration between KLM Airlines and TU Delft came to fruition with the test flight of their test model of a flying V wing

On landing there was a gust of wind and the pilot did not correct it properly and the model landed on it's nose wheel snapping the strut.

I'm incredibly curious about those engines. Are they custom or is there an actual market for RC faired electronic propeller motors?

Btw, Boeing looked into the flying wing in the 90's/early 2000's as a successor for the 747/777, but killed the project after concluding that passengers in the middle row will freak out because of being in the middle row. I also don't think that other manufacturers will jump on this concept. Aerospace is a very conservative industry, and after the A380 debacle you'll have to be crazy to invest billions in a high-risk project.

Yes there is a market for them, it's a ducted fan motor and used quite a bit in RC aircraft where the real aircraft uses a jet engine.

you can get them in electric motor or internal combustion (glow plug) forms
