Many of us have had to deal with cases of extreme boredom due to this Pandemic BS and we've had to adjust to lack of entertainment and social interaction.
I'm sure many of you get calls about your "Car's Extended Warranty", for me they used to come 2 or 3 times a day but now I don't get more than 1 every other week.
Here is what you do when you answer the phone;
No matter the apparent gender of the person on the other end, flirt with them, Hard. I mean like desperately. Be vulgar, ask them if they're wearing underwear? Is it shaved down there? Guarantee they will hang up.
Alternately go off on them like the mechanic who has had your car in the shop for a week!
Demand to know where your refund is!!
Where is my Pizza Dammit!
Be clever, make something up and have fun because if they're going to waste your time it might as well be entertaining.
and yes I actually have and continue to do this (I don't get many phone calls) yep

My main hobby is PC gaming so the pandemic really hasn't changed what I do with my free time. smile

Years ago I had a call from someone trying to sell me my own toll-free number, and I kept telling him no, but he wouldn't give up. Finally he asked if I didn't have any family that would need to be able to call me for free, and I said, "No, I have no family and live alone, and my only interaction with the outside world is when people like you call." [long pause] "What are you wearing right now?" Click.

Another time I said, "I'm guessing that when you were a kid, your dream wasn't that you'd be in a packed phone pit calling people who despised all day, was it?" Click

One exchange that was funny was I tried doing something to give the caller a hard time, I don't remember what, and he came back with a pretty good come-back. I did to him, and him back, and we both cracked up and parted amicably.

My last landline phone circa 2005 was getting it's message machine filled daily with telemarketing calls. I never did figure out how it got so bad.

Anyway I got my first cell phone that year, so I left a really profane and lengthy anti telemarketer rant greeting on the answering machine, part of it stating that my landline number was now for outgoing calls only.

Hilarity ensued - for weeks I was getting callbacks from call centers where I'd hear people laughing in the background - they were gathering their co-workers and likely saying "You gotta hear THIS one!".

No pics Ajay, please. eek

I remember may hours of "fun" with prank phone calls.

"Do you have Prince Albert in a can?"...

"Is your refrigerator running?"....

A far cry from these internet raised mutants making fake SWAT team calls that get people killed, for digital "cred".

Glad I was young when I was young. I saw a little bunch of the world before I was twenty five, the good sides and the bad sides. But I did it in person....for real.

I wasn't rich, in fact scrambling for rent a lot of the time. I just set my mind to do it.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.
