Looper and Brick weren't so bad, so there is some hope he won't. As for DB and Benioff... So long as there's material to write their scripts around, the show should be decent. They mostly run into problems once the book pages have run out.

The Three Body Problem series is among the best sci-fi I have ever read. Really looking forward to this.

I've never even heard of the books until I read the Variety article but I am definitely interested in watching the series.
