I'm pretty sure the PS4 controller can connect via your PC's bluetooth, no adapter needed. Not sure about Xbox one controllers. Thank you. I`ll check. Been months since I played something on the PS4 so I have to charge the controller.

I think I am going to pick up a controller myself.

It seems the PS4 controller works finr here. At least with the USB cable. Have to work more on the Bluetooth option. Youtube is a good thing when it comes to "howto" guides. Downloaded the DC4 program. Seems like it has drivers for the controller. Now it`s ManU versus PSG Paris on this side of the pond.

Lots of controllers to choose from and some good suggestions above. I bought a USB X Box controller for $15 and it works fine.
Like I said, The PS4 Dual Shock can work, but it requires some software and in my case I failed to get it working properly with Elite, which doesn't mean others would have the same problem. Plus you need to charge it and I can't be bothered with that. The USB X Box controller is plug and play with Windows and never needs charging.

Hooked it up via bluetooth no problem. On the PS4 controller, hold down the PS button and share button simultaneously for 3 seconds to put it in pair mode. Add it as a bluetooth device on your PC as you would any other BT device. No third party software needed if you are running Windows 10. (you did in the past, but not now) As for Steam, go into Big Picture Mode Controller settings and check off the box beside Playstation Configuration support. You can change controller preferences within Steam, change lightbar color and brightness etc. It seems third party software is needed only if you use the PS4 controller outside of Steam.

I snuck in a round late last night to keep sharp in advance of our get together. Played Riviera for the first time. Shot 65 with two bogies in light winds. It's not an easy course as it's target golf. A couple of times I hit less than driver off the tee, and the greens are small and elevated, so that if you miss them it's more difficult than many courses to scramble for par.
I'll stand ready to join, the next three evenings are good, but whenever, no hurry.
There's not much I don't like about this game really, but as I mentioned I'm no fan of the announcing, though I seem to be in the minority judging by reviews. But the one thing that really bothers me is there are no 1-irons or 2-irons. I'd gladly trade a wedge and a hybrid for those two clubs.

DBond, how often do you calibrate your swing ?

I only did it twice. Once when I was using the more advanced controls, and then again when I removed swing timing. The way it is feels pretty good, and I get a good swing most of the time, with the odd pull or push. So I don't feel compelled to mess with it. It more or less behaves how I want it to, is acceptably repeatable, and good enough for me.

Initially may swing goes generally right. So I need to calibrate, How do you get that vector when you put with the PS4 controller. I`ve tried to make out how to use the different symbols in the right corner, but I can`t find out of it. May be it`s a RTFM question? Anyway did a first course and got double digits over par. I made some birdies as well so there was progress.

Gotta rotate the hips How do you get that vector when you put with the PS4 controller.
Not sure what you mean. For me I read the green then use the stick to place the cursor where I think it needs to be to account for the break. I then hit A on X Box controller for putt preview, see how close I had been, then make final adjustments if needed and then give it a roll. Anyway did a first course and got double digits over par. I made some birdies as well so there was progress. Nice work. You'll be dropping low 60s in no time.

Wigean, even if you are using a PS4 controller, the symbols show as Xbox controls within Steam X=A Circle=B Square=X Triangle=Y

Hold down X is what I believe you are looking for. You can hold down triangle after it is started to speed it up.

I think I threw of my growth switching between mouse and DS4 controller the last 24 hours. Decide to stick with controller. Riviera is definitely on of the tighter courses. Very fun game.

Yeah, switching control schemes would set you back a bit, but maybe be best in the end. Riviera's a good course but a tough test, especially if the wind's blowing. I started another pro tour career last night and struggled a bit. Shot 5-under over two rounds, but my scorecard was all over the place. Not many pars I can tell you. I was pretty inconsistent with my shots, nailed some, and lots of wobbly ones too. Need to keep practicing

So Sunday I was watching the final round of the Masters as I've done for the past thirty years. My son, who is 11, watched some of it too. He's interested in golf, we've played a few times and I signed him up for a summer clinic a couple years ago. Well, watching the tournament made him ask me if I wanted to play 'that golf game'. So we fired up 2K21 and had a bash.
I was using my X Box One controller that I use for racing and FIFA. He was using my X Box 360 controller that I bought to have a new one. But I didn't care for the way the sticks responded, like it has a dead zone that felt wrong with racing and FIFA. A very different feel between the controllers.
Well I get to whacking away at my ball and as usual the meter on the right of the screen reveals my wobbly swing path. Bringing the club too far inside lol.
So my son starts hitting and I'm telling you, every shot was nailed. The swing path meter was a straight blue line every shot. I've played quite a lot of this game, and though perfectly straight paths happen, most have some wobble in them. My son said "Dad I think it's just my superior stick skills I get from playing game like CoD. I'm just amazing at this.'
Hmmm. Yeah, maybe. Well, I ended up shooting 68 and he shot 80. His short game needs work lol.
I don't doubt my son has skills, a chip off the old block you know. But I suspected there was more to it. So I fired it up the next day and used the 360 controller. Holy sh!t. Every shot nailed, perfect, every time. Couldn't believe it. That the controllers could make such a remarkable difference.
I happened to be playing my PGA Tour career, and this was TPC Summerlin. Conditions were perfect, no wind, medium firmness, sunny skies. And I shot 55-56 over the two rounds. That is insane. That the controllers could be so different, and how perfectly I could play with one, but not the other. 55!

Hey Bong, sorry I missed your post, didn't think anyone would reply to a golf game thread haha. It's a fun game, making that switch to a different controller has done wonders. Still hard to believe what a massive improvement it has been. Got my second hole in one, and now routinely shoot in the 50s as long as the wind isn't blowing too much. I've played through to near the end of my second season on Tour, and have won every tournament in this season. I play on Pro, swing timing off, with unlimited putt preview. I've had plenty of luck reading greens in other golf games, but this one not so much, so the putt preview helps a lot, too much really. You can't shoot in the 50s without putting great. I usually don't want to be running away with it, but it's so much fun to make a lot of birdies Without the preview I sometimes read the break as the opposite of what it is. With it that's not a problem. I think I'd have trouble breaking 70 without it.
