I could be totally wrong but I'd guess if you were flying that low in real life (somewhere else, obviously flying like in that video would be completely illegal) you'd leave them deployed in case you had to do a fast emergency landing?

But as far as in that video, maybe he was doing it to tighten up the turning radius?

Hah! But to be fair that was a total "farting around" sim flight.

I've probably spent as many hours doing things in sims you'd never do in real life as I have trying to "fly by the book"...

I've shown sims to a few real pilots (one being a 30+ year jet pilot) and they (ultimately, after checking out the sim) seem more interested in doing things they CAN'T (legally) do in real airplanes...

Somewhat funny story on that - one guy, several minutes in, exclaims "Ok THIS feels weird".

Me: "Yeah? So what feels wrong with the sim?"

Him: "Oh the sim is great, I'm talking about me looking at this cockpit (737) with a beer in my hand!"

I stayed up for the release. Flew around DC and NYC in an Icon AT.

My 980Ti is not cutting it at 4k and High settings that the sim recommended. Gotta get a new a PC or Ampere.

I'm going the X-Box Game Pass route once the launch issues are sorted out.

£1.00 for a months gaming,I'll know by then if I like it or more importantly if my PC will like it (GTX970/i5 6600/16gb).

The download was available at midnight here in the UK so I set it going and went to bed.
Seeing as its both my bday and FS release day I took the day off work and have been messing with it most of the day.
I'v got a few minor niggles with it but so far I'm very impressed.

Chucky I am using the XBox Game Pass to play the game. So far no issues getting it started. However I haven't seen it finish the 91Gb download... will try it when I get home

Well I just had my first CTD after taxing to GA Parking at EGLC London City.
Not sure what's to blame yet, I did a flight there with no problems with the default scenery but the CTD happened after I bought the ORBX EGLC and London landmarks but that might just be a coincidence.

So,

back from the first tests and setting up the sim. Btw there is a guy who makes great tutorials.

My elderly system runs quite good under High settings, CPU is around 75 % load, GFX card is mostly well above 90 % though. Memory usage around 14 Gigs. Did a little local flying from EDHK to Eggebeck Airbase in the C-172, down low fps around 35 at 4,000 ft I was above fps.

What I found amazing, in the harbour of Kiel, where EDHK ist located, there were two ferries which had the correct shipping-lines on them.
Unfortunatly I haven´t figured out how to switch the views in cockpit using one of the three coolie-hats of my Saitek X55. The camera-system is a little clunky IMO.

Greets

The same guy of your link has tutorial for set camera, previous video is how reassing jouy button.

https://youtu.be/wTUFA33wIEM

Camera view with mouse seems very practical, and with JoyToKey or perhaps you joy software you can emulate mouse movement in POV HAT.
Or reassign fixed angles set in keypad for POV HAT.

Opera resume, the controls assignment in FS 2020 is like in any other flight game - select a command, press a joy button or keyboard key; and like any other flight game people will complain that "assign controls suck". biggrin

I was hoping to try it out tonight but that 90 gig download... less that 10 to go but it's too late to start faffing around with it now.
