It is not a city made with photogrammetry, so buildings are generic, but from what I can compare with Google Maps, it looks good. stadiums, ports, train station are there. There is also the kind of trench in the forest North of Oslo for the high-tension lines. But I don't know Oslo.

Thank you Roudou. I had hoped for top quality, but may be it will improve in the future.

Just a small reminder that MSFS will be available in xbox game pass for PC (Basic Edition). So before you buy it, you can test it at least for a month for very cheap. That's what i'am going to do. I need to see how it runs on my current PC before i cough up the full price. Plus if it turns out to be a great sim, i think i'll get the premium edition.

Did you pre-order it at the Microsoft´s site? I don´t want the Steam version...
I ordered from Steam.

I certainly considered the upscaled versions -- MSFS2020 seems "groundbreaking" enough to make getting all the features worth it. In my checking the official site, the main draw would be the added aircraft and/or airports -- otherwise they are advertised as all 3 being the same.
In my case, the added aircraft and airports were not something I would make use of. I will probably mod MSFS2020 with the presumably included Microsoft modding SDK (no extra cost).
When I do this, if I can buy another computer....I'll pick up the basic edition too. 20 airplanes is plenty. Wish I had a rig that can handle it right now, because I'd love to get it. My laptop is just a hair above minimum requirements. I'm almost tempted to grab it, anyway.

Hi cn someone point me at a post or link that lists the available flyable aircraft, standard vs premium editions? The MS official site seems very obscure on this point... thx!
And PS admins this is going to be huge... time to open a dedicated subforum?

Microsoft Flight Simulator launches with 20 aircraft available to all players, from single-engine light aircraft to the world's prominent passenger jets. The base game ships with an extensive initial roster, differing in aircraft type and hailing from varying manufacturers. The following lineup is available to both standard editions or accessed through Xbox Game Pass.
Airbus A320neo Aviat Pitts Special S2S Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental CubCrafters XCub Daher TBM 930 Diamond DA62 Diamond DA40 NG EXTRA 330LT Flight Design CTLS ICON A5 JMB VL-3 Robin CAP 10 Robin DR400-100 Cadet Beechcraft Bonanza G36 Beechcraft King Air 350i Cessna 152 Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000) Cessna 208 B Grand Caravan EX Cessna Citation CJ4 Zlin Savage Cub
Planes exclusive to Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition An upgrade to the Deluxe Edition packs an additional five planes and handcrafted airports, headlined by various personal light aircraft.
Planes exclusive to Premium Deluxe Edition The Premium Deluxe variant of Microsoft Flight Simulator enables the full experience, with 30 planes included with this package. That includes light aircraft through to the wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner in service across various airlines today.
This is one of the planes that I was most excited about, also. I'm glad it's part of the standard package which is the one I intend to get. I'm hoping that at some point in the future, they see it in their hearts to add a pontoon option. With all of the great waterways around the world, this thing would be a blast as a floatplane.

That would be ubercool, does that variant even exist?
BTW as soon as I read about the release date I rushed to my favorite peripherals website to update my controller kit (HOTAS, pedals etc) and ... half the stuff there was sold out! I know I was late to the party figuring out it was coming soon, but the preorders must be pretty heavy!
PS I did not put the link to Amazon in my post. Hate that.

Someone will do it sooner or later. Interesting to watch the vid on the Zlin website with a real Zlin pilot flying the MSFS versions. He said he was not impressed by the X Cub version (something about the tail wheel implementation) but he loved the Savage Cub version and that was the one he featured in his video. And it does look like fun!

I understand it's messing around in a flight sim and not real... but for a real life pilot to fly the whole video and not notice he still had flaps deployed???... Hello?
