At launch there won't be VR and Track IR support. That's a bad sign for me... At least it'll be available on xbox gamepass for PC so i'll test it before making a purchase.
That's a deal breaker.
No Track IR, no purchase.
It's so easy to implement, there's no excuse for them to not have it ready. Descent Freespace 2 and X-Wing Alliance have it modded in, and they're over twenty years old!

"We only have 11 planes currently in the Alpha, and none of them are aerobatics."
Seems as though the standard release has 20 planes, now. Three are airbatic. The Pitts, Extra, and the CAP 10. That's plenty for me. It will cost you 59.99 which is not unreasonable. Thought it was going to be more. The delux version will have 25 planes and will run you 79.99. The premium will have 30, and I believe it comes with a pricetag of 109.99. There is also a difference in the amount of "handcrafted" airports. While all airports will be in all versions, the delux and premium will have more of the highly detailed, highly accurate ones. Third party developers are on board, so they'll be more content coming.

Same for me. If TrackIR is announced, I will get it.

I will be happy if modding is also feasible for us non-developers who modify games for our personal enjoyment.
Making or altering models (aircraft, buildings, etc) is up to our skills and software -- and we are responsible for that. But, I'm hoping at least some of the relevant files (3D models, textures, flight models, etc) are relatively easy to open and save in the new MSFS formats -- the MSFS team could make it easy, if they wanted to.

Red2112 got me looking. I found:
Quote
Once MSFS-2020 is released as a final version some time this year, all users of the software should have access to the SDK which should kick the freeware add-on developers and enthusiasts into gear to start producing wonderful add-ons such as obscure airports and exotic aircraft.
The SDK a freeware add-on - great (if true). Looking at it optimistically, that should fulfill my desire for simple access to models etc. Meantime, I'm not interested in starting modding until I have the MSFS2020 release edition running on my PC.
Looks outstanding, can't wait for it. I really do hope this will be the platform for years to come and they will not screw that like Dovetail did. First testings show that with my current rig i should be able to play at medium/high in 30 FPS or more so i'am happy. But i'am already planning an upgrade later this year specifically for MSFS.

Nice, clean and simple flight planning, with SIDS, STARS and APPROACHES etc. I wonder if ARIAC´s and NAVAID´s will be updateable...
If I do buy it it will only be the standard edition for me... and then it will probably be in a sale much farther down the line. To be honest, there are only four aircraft I would be interested in flying in the current line up... and it's the realistic terrain to fly over that is the main draw for me anyway.

Well, without breaking the NDA, the game is based on satellits (and photogrammetry) datas. So obviously, some areas have less precision than Europe or mainland USA.

Can you make a trip around Oslo, Norway? I`ve heard some alpha testers were dissapointed. :-)
