I reckon he is past his motivation and desire to be the world's top driver. And once Leclerc proved to be better, Vettel became petulant I think. All my opinion of course. But Seb didn't like not being the clear number one on the team.

It won't matter soon anyway as I don't think he has a seat for next season yet.

Well, that didn't take long. Yankees / Phillies game cancelled due to Floridan Marlins Covid-19 outbreak. 12 players and 2 coaches.

What's both ironic and funny is that the Marlins were probably getting about the same number of fans to show up to their games that they were getting in the pre-pandemic seasons.

NFL has set Sept. 10th as the start of their season.

They insisted on travelling between cities. The NBA and NHL are using hub cities, and creating a bubble.

Finally a hockey game to watch tonight. I don't care that it's exhibition. It's been 4 months. Going to skip the pre show though, and intermissions. I don't need to be preached to. They were getting bad before the George Floyd deal.

Possibly, imo the Ferrari garage or Ferrari on high has had serious issues for awhile now. I reckon they could even make Lewis look bad if they had him.

I still can't believe Florida has a hockey team. Hardly anyone goes to the games.

Professional sports. Who cares anymore ?

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

The only pro sport I really care about anymore is baseball and even that is being strained now due to the recent "antics" by MLB to show they are "socially aware".

I'm of a similar mind as oldgrognard regarding professional sports. Your post had me wondering though, as I knew someone who was a pretty hard core Tampa Bay Lightning fan.

https://www.statista.com/statistics...e-of-the-tampa-bay-lightning-since-2006/

https://www.statista.com/statistics/198889/nhl-home-attendance-of-the-florida-panthers-since-2006/

and just for comparison's sake:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/198778/nhl-home-attendance-of-the-calgary-flames-since-2006/

If you scroll down further on one of those pages, you can get attendance stats for other teams.

I suppose between the number of snowbirds and yankee immigrants to Florida, and the percentage of people who are into the circus part of "bread and circus", the league researchers figured out that there was a market for NHL games in parts of Florida. Like you, I would not have guessed it. But I have often misjudged such marketing decisions.

It's insulting actaully. My "hangout", I go twice a week max, is a sports bar. We are fromally asking the owner to eliminate all the major sports from TV's in a big corner of the bar and just show golf and hunting/fishing. Some of us get in a bad mood just watching ESPN.

Lifelong college fans and alumni don't want to watch college ball either.

They have 2. The Tampa Bay Lightning is a very good team, and seem to have good fan base. But the Panthers, who are not a bad team can't draw flies. A lot of the fans that attend are Canadian snowbirds. The NHL commissioner is very stubborn, and will not admit the failure that is the Florida Panthers. Hell bent on NHL expansion in the USA.

I had completely forgotten about the Lightning. That's good to hear that at least Tampa's hockey team gets good attendance because their baseball team is ALMOST as bad as the Marlins when it comes to empty stadiums.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
