I stopped trying to decide what is "Metal" and what is simply "hard rock" years ago since there is so much gray area between the two genres. I just listen to the stuff I like and go from there.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”

Thanks. And then to complicate matters you have all of those sub-genres of Metal like Doom, Goth, Speed, Death, etc.

The playing between 3:20 and 4:00 is ok (and makes me think it's for real), but overall definitely not my thing. But neither are many other genres, just different strokes... As a middle-ager I'm glad I like what I do because of the place and state of mind music puts me in. A little classic angst is ok (i.e. Metallica), but I wouldn't want a regular diet of it.
As I'm typing this post, the previous video ended and auto-started this one...
Nice playing at first, then the weird demon voice returns which makes me think it's all supposed to be serious. Go figure.
EDIT: Remove all lyrics (I hesitate to call it singing) and I can dig it...in moderation.
