You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Don't feel bad at all about not liking "Princess Bride" NoFlyBoy. I think all of us here have encountered the issue where we watch some critically acclaimed/loved film and it does nothing for us. The best example for me is "The Blair Witch Project". I could NOT comprehend at all why this movie was such a big deal at the time. It was an utter waste of 2 hours of my time.

The Blair Witch Project. My brothers kept teasing me and telling the footage is real and I was afraid to sleep or to go outside when it's dark.

I will hard pass on The Goonies. Betcha a Buffalo penny it will suck too.

It's considered by many to be a classic 80's movie but in my opinion it hasn't aged well.

I ask what is so fantastic about it? It's boring. It's stupid. A waste of my time.

This is another movie they also told me for many years and years I can't miss and again for many many years I keep passing it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089218/ After the disappointment I had, I think I will wait a few more years.

I have an iocane smoothie you should try. You'll like it. I promise...

IF you want to watch a really good, gritty 80s movie that truly catches a darker corner of the decade, try "Less than Zero" NFB. Sounds like you don't want happy and sweet. This is anything but.

Crackin' good music, though.

That show is a very unusual case. First season was quite good, the next two were just OK. Then the remaining five seasons were simply outstanding, I think each one better than the last.

Binged this yesterday. Excellent!

I don't know how much is the pay to work at Antarctica research station especially during the 6 months of no sun, I will be bored to tears there.

In the series, they said your body is also affected physically and mentally by the lack of sunlight and some folks actually go nuts.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter-over_syndrome

What is this they were watching on the first day of no sun? They said it's a tradition that every Antarctica station does it.

The Goonies: At 17, Josh Brolin was the oldest teenager in the movie and now he's 52. Cory Feldman and Sean Aston will both turn 50 next year. Man, does time fly?

I suppose , I am going Stir Crazy from Stay at home Covid 19. I watched Princess from mars with A. Sabato and T. Lords then caught The Wolf Man with Lon Chaney on old time T.V. Recently, " Hercules " with Steve Reeves and a Drop Dead good looking Sylva Koscina

The Thing is one of my favorite movies ever, Noflyboy, you should definitely take the effort to watch it, preferably in a fully dark room with a blanket over you. smile If there is a a lot of wind outside that’s a bonus

I’m currently watching Boardwalk Empire. I saw Season 1 and half of Season 2 a few years back, but never continued watching. Hoo i’ll make it to the end now

We are watching it right now with all the lights off. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is cute!

NFB,

You are watching the wrong version. That is the prequel to the original which you saw being watched. The original came out in 1982 (even this is a remake if you google it). Kurt Russell is in it.

And as Vaderini stated, is excellent. It is probably my favourite film.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 brilliantly riffed one of the Steve Reeves Hercules films from the late 50's. It's definitely worth a watch!

Oooops. No matter, we will finish it first. Watch them in order they happen. Thanks.

"The Thing" from the 1950's - Pretty good
"The Thing" from John Carpenter - Absolute brilliance
"The Thing" prequel from a few years ago - Absolute crap.

1950? We gotta watch that one before this one and the other one. On Amazon again. Why doesn't Netflix have these so we don't have to pay for each one https://www.amazon.com/Thing-Another-World-James-Arness/dp/B006PJI8ZY

It's not in Color!!!!!
