"The DCS World Dynamic Campaign Engine combines a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) engine with military forces and economics layers (production, logistics, use and transfer of resources) that pitch two opposing sides aided by advanced strategic and tactical AI.
We have now completed the core RTS logic and have connected it to DCS World. We are currently finalising the basics of the in-game economic models. We will be working on the combat tasking logic and certain win-win situations in the near future. The last stage will be the Client - Server architecture needed to support large campaigns with on-going online sessions."
Sounds great. But seeing is believing.

Reading the news letter it seems this will be an online campaign. Maybe akin to the BOX career mode. And it appear, based on the wording that it will not be a solo campaign. So this is really no where close to F4 in terms of the level of sophistication.
The_GhostRider Seriously . . . do they just not understand that there is an audience for offline career/campaign games?

I came across this, haven't had time to check it out: Liberation Dynamic Campaign

The_GhostRider Seriously . . . do they just not understand that there is an audience for offline career/campaign games? Yet the developers have acknowledge that more people actually play single player than online DCS - so yes, there seems to be a bit of a cognitive disconnect with its developmental approach, lol. Anyway, there is talk in other forums that a dynamic campaign engine is indeed being worked on by ED - that Idk or not(?) - haven't been following that much as I don't play it very much at all (haphazard approach with scattered aircraft across numerous time-frames (without really adequately fleshing any out on a broader base, pricing, and very questionable AI has kept me pretty much away). That Liberation Dynamic Campaign posted above seems interesting - may have to check it out (though I am sure it can't improve AI though) - but worth a look. Thanks for posting that!

The_GhostRider Falcon BMS campaign engine beautifully integrates with online servers. I have played in persistent campaigns that were left running for a month, and anyone could join at any time and frag a mission. When they say "RTS," that definitely sounds like Falcon. But this is Eagle Dynamics, so we should wait and see but not hope too much.

I want to try it as well but I need to learn the F-18 a bit better first.

Just tried Liberation DC, its actually quite good. What is the ground war like? Are targets actually moving and do wingmen and squadmates actually do an adequate job on ground attacks?

I want to try it as well but I need to learn the F-18 a bit better first. I'm in the same boat! I bought the modules for the F-18 and the MiG-21 a while ago and I've barely touched either platform.
