Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
I'm looking for a crew list of the Troop Ship USS Le Jeune AP74, Going through some old photographs belonging to my Grandfather I found one of one of the crew from the ship with a note on it saying: "To my friend Robert Paul, here I am in my civilian dress after 25 months of service on the USS Le Jeune 10/23/45" His name is Bernard but I can't quite read his surname and the picture is quite faded.

Once I get some time I will scan the pic and see if I can read it a bit better.

So if anyone knows where I could see a crew list for the ship, that would be great, if he served 25 months on the ship then he would have been on the ship from when it was acquired from Brazil in 1943, the ship was an ex German freighter TS Windhuk and interned in Santos San Paulo December 1939

In 1971 the ships bell was mounted on the flagstaff at Camp Le Jeune.

Gruzeski

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

My grandfather died at 90 in 1964 so he was born in or around 1874ish, while my father, also Robert, is from 1923 so I'm going by the fact that the photo is in my grandfather's album from the period of the late 20s to the early 1930s.

I think there is a 99.9% chance that that pic of the grave could be the same Gruzeski

Quote
You can see how Gruzeski families moved over time by selecting different census years. The Gruzeski family name was found in the USA in 1920. In 1920 there was 1 Gruzeski family living in Pennsylvania. This was 100% of all the recorded Gruzeski's in the USA. Pennsylvania had the highest population of Gruzeski families in 1920.
