… a Brown Recluse I suspect, and bit me on the lower belly, resulting in a ghastly 1/2 deep open wound by this, the 6th day.

The only positive is that the poison, after the fever and sweats subsided, seems to left me feeling considerably better than I felt before the bite, either it killed off some kind of pathogen in my system, or it supercharged my immune system.

No indication of gaining spider powers as yet however.

I live with Brown Recluses (you cant get rid of them) and sofar i've never been bitten... or I should say I've been bitten a lot but sofar never a venomous bite.

Hopefully you recover just fine and got some stuff to neutralize the wound growth.

You shouldn't take brown recluse spider bites lightly. Should go to a doctor immediately. Infection can set in resulting in permanent injury and death.

Their venom can cause permanent deep tissue damage.

Thankfully it looks like its healing nicely, and I'm normally a very slow healer.

Going to be a heck of a scar though.

Be thankful the bite wasn't a little lower. Don't think you would want the amputation Zamzow mentioned. stirthepot

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Yikes, that sounds terrible - I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery!

We have black widows around here, and I've seen them in my garage, but so far no bites that I know of.

I was extremely lucky in terms of where I was bitten, just about anywhere else would have been more of an issue.

Personally, I am more SCARED of Brown Recluse spiders than anything else biting/venomous.
Well except Honey Badgers. Those are really scary!

Dude I am sorry. I have had relatives get hospitalized for that spider bite.

In my defense, I was left unsupervised...

You are actually safer with a tarantula in your hand than with a brown recluse spider in your hand.

Tarantulas are actually very gentle spiders and are little risk toward humans. That's why many folks keep them as pets.
