Recently the Central Air went out in my house. It may be a while before it's fixed so in the interim I was going to purchase a cheap window unit for the bedroom. I went on Walmart.com and found one for about $70 about half the price of the next model and I bought it with paypal. The receipt comes back KELLY DUNNE, Woah wait a minute! from Walmart? Of course I immediately contact Paypal and they say it's too late even though my bank says it's still processing. Paypal suggests I wait till I hear back from the seller, This is the 11th Friday I ordered it at 4pm. Saturday I get an email through Paypal with shipping info; Tracking numbers from USPS. Not only does it say it was delivered to my Mailbox at 11am on the 11th but it says it shipped from Virginia on the 7th before I actually ordered it. I can (maybe) understand spoofing a website but faked shipping information? I have a login on Walmart.com and it skipped the login when I added the item to my cart and went straight to Paypal, I should have paid more attention. But the fake shipping that predates my order? That really blows my mind.

Wait, back up. You found a window AC unit on Walmart for $70? That's how much you paid? $70. If that's what you paid, that by itself is unrealistic. You can't get a window AC unit for $70.

To be fair I thought it was a micro unit, there are some table top portable things that I have seen and they are always sold out at $89.99. Not surprisingly I cannot find this item advertised anywhere at that price and as soon I saw the receipt I was suspicious, I was suggested Newegg has a marketplace too where some other sellers are able to sell new, used and refurbs so perhaps it was one of those but the tracking number showed it as having been delivered before I ordered it, pretty slick for a hacker.

Never link Paypal with your bank account, regardless of how much they beg you to. Always use a credit card so you can dispute the charge.

Do you still have the link to the Walmart page you found it. Have you tried contacting Walmart?

Yeah and always go to the website, Log In and search, not by the Product. I've been talking to Paypal, but I may be screwed

I seriously doubt there was any website spoofing.

If you look closely, Walmart (and they are not alone) offers items which are sold and shipped by completely separate entities. My hunch would be that your purchase was such, sold and shipped by a third party seller through the Walmart website. Double check your sales receipt, and see if the seller listed the item condition as NEW, or perhaps USED, which might explain the lower price?

Looking at the first page of window AC units at Walmart.com, I see more than 10 third party sellers offering items there. Only 9 of the 40 AC units on that page are actually sold by Walmart.

I'd figure you're probably going to have to wait on the seller to deliver. And if that fails, maybe you can get with Walmart (who *might* demand proof of delivery from the seller), and secondarily PayPal.

Weirdly, I did not see that indicated; off site or used etc. and when I clicked to add it to my cart it went to payment choice, I was on a new cell phone and hadn't set up email yet so I assumed there would be a receipt in my email but I never had to log in to Walmart.com though I was on the webpage so no receipt from Walmart, I'll remember next time.

adlabs6 is on the right track I believe, I noticed sometime back shopping for some item that not all orders come directly from Wally World

I must admit I've never seen the walmart site on a phone, so I'm not sure how it displays.

This same issue hit me a while back. Ordered something and immediately noticed a weird seller name on the receipt. The item did arrive, but some investigating revealed the third party seller was an individual, in my case. The item was packaged in a store brand sandwich bag. Usable, but certainly eye opening as to what even top eCommerce sites will allow for third party sellers..

Amazon does it all the time. I always make sure the product is sold and fulfilled and shipped by Amazon.
