"Midway" (the 1976 one) should be renamed "How to have a stellar cast and STILL screw up a movie".

Tom Hanks' Cast Away would had been funny if the ending was like this

Fedex must have paid a lot for all that advertising in "Cast Away".

That was a great movie that could have been made better by editing out most/all of the "forbidden" romance part, but that it was a great movie regardless.

Actually Fedex didn't pay anything.

Where did you confirm that? The trivia section on IMDB?

Google it. It's all over the net and it was common knowledge at the movie's release when folks complain about all the Fedex product placement, the director and producers and even Fedex said there was no product placement payment. The director chose Fedex because a fictional shipping company would not have such impact as a real company. They asked Fedex if it's okay and Fedex said go ahead. No money was paid by Fedex to the film producers. Fedex did supply real things like the planes and the hub for filming. Wilson didn't pay either. Google: did fedex pay for cast away and you will find everything about it including news articles on it.

I am glad to be of assistance and help and be a contributor of a bastion of informative information. Enjoy your Friday.

My brother has Apple TV. I will have to go across town to pay him a visit if I want to watch this Greyhound movie.

I'll have to wait until it's available on a different platform. I don't do Apple.

We watched it last night. The good news, the CGI is pretty good. I do think it's worth watching, I guess, but this is not a great flick. Character development is barely even hinted at, but they seem to want you to care about Tom Hanks, I guess just because he's Tom Hanks. There are no characters used, just people in roles. I get that this is supposed to be representational of the situation rather than more of a story, but they really could've done better to engage the viewers. There are some cheesy elements sprinkled throughout, purely for movie drama and the U-boats spend a LOT of time on the surface. Much of it just doesn't make sense. It feels like it was originally a 3 hour movie chopped down to 90 minutes by giving up anything that might have given the movie a story and real characters. Imagine SPR with all character development cut out, you never learn the names of characters and you can barely tell them apart. Watch it for the eye candy naval battle, but there's really no substance here. Ultimately disappointing.
That said, Apple TV has a 7 day free trial, so you can see it free, but even if you keep it to watch some other movies/shows they have, it's only $5/mo. We were about to spend that on another rental that's on the service anyway, so no big deal. We'll just cancel after and maybe even save the $5.

Apple TV is streaming only? Can you use the free trial to download a copy of anything you watch during that time for keeping?

Seriously NFB are you just trolling or are you really that clueless?

Thanks for this informative review. I see that my decision not to bother watching this was the correct one.

What is your problem? I don't have Apple TV. I have never had Apple TV. So I have a question about it. I can't ask a question or make a comment or post anything without your constant harassment and criticizing me and complaining or calling me a troll whatever the F*(k that means!

This is not the first time you've done it. You have done it dozen of times and I have chose to ignore your ignorant comments each time.

You should get a ban for constantly flaming me and harassing me which I am sure it's against a set of rules somewhere.

I’m only one of many who have complained about your posts NFB.

But it looks like you are trying to pick a fight in this thread. Too much unnecessary animosity.

Honestly, I didn’t explore it much, but I did see a section for your purchases, so maybe you can buy some content like on Vudu( the service I like). However, I didn’t see a listing for some free video I got years ago on itunes, so I don’t know much about it. I’m not big on apple these days either, but at least you get the week free after digging out the apple ID login. LOL
Just to be clear, this is the apple tv app, it isn’t necessary to have the box. I had this on an Amazon Fire Tv.

If you miss it, don’t lose any sleep. The cgi did come through in the end (IMO), but that’s not enough.
