It's all up to personal preference of course but for me, watching a movie dubbed in English instead of the original language completely takes me out of the immersion. This is especially true for a movie set in a specific historical time period and location.
I know some people have watched "Seven Samurai" and "Das Boot" dubbed in English but for me I think they are missing out on a lot by not watching them in their original and historically correct languages.

And to further elaborate on my point, the converse is also true. If I was a native Japanese speaker I would not want to watch "Henry V" in Japanese but instead watch it in the correct English with Japanese subtitles.

I'm with you 100% on this, although the translation / supers quality will make or break a masterpiece.

I have been binging Star Trek the Next Generation complete series, on season 4 now. That actress that play Tasha Yar sure ruin her acting career when she quit the show mid first season. The Counselo doesn't do much outside of picking your brains. I think the show could go on without her. The Doctor, if I was on the Enterprise, I will be finding ways to be in sickbay every day.
Why are there children on the Enterprise?

Denise Crosby fell into the trap that many other tv actors have fallen into where they thought too highly of themselves and overestimated their importance. She quit the show because she was unhappy with the amount of screen-time her character was getting.
Later on she did make some guest appearances as different characters on Star Trek shows but the damage was done. Her career really went nowhere after she quit TNG.

Like the dumb blonde on Grey's Anatomy who quit after first 5 season and her acting career was stuck in B movies. The show is still on and on its 17th season.

Ah yes, Kathryn Heigl. You know your career has taken a hit when you are doing tv commercials for NyQuil.

I haven't seen those commercials. Are they recent? I had a crush on her and her 2 fellow actresses on Roswell. Katherine was also cute as Seagal's niece in Under Siege 2. I was just starting to blooming then

No. Those commercials came out several years ago. You might find them on YouTube though.

You simply cannot appreciate Shakespeare if you don't hear it in original Klingon.

As did Gates McFadden, but she wised up, swallowed her pride and came back as a regular again. She's lucky they didn't kill her off.

I just looked it up and that Thief of Baghdad production is from 1978 when Marina was 23 years old. She definitely was gorgeous.

Wow. I just read through the cast list for "Thief of Baghdad" and look who else was in it!

Wow,I never checked out the cast list. Peter Ustinov was a fascinating gentleman. You should check out 'An Audience With Peter Ustinov' or any of the Parkinson interviews. A truly great man and a million miles above most so called 'celebrities' we have to suffer today.
