Having just decided to give A3 another try I have some questions if I may. In the past I just dabbled, got fed up really quickly because of my own inability to fully understand what was going on but now I'm serious! I've added most of the DLC and almost 100GB of mods.

In the launcher under the mods section,I see that I can load and unload various (or all) mods. What is the function of this exactly? Do I need to load all or just the ones for the type of game I'm playing.

The same for the DLC I guess.

Is the default A3 launcher the best option? I'm sure that some years ago someone suggested a third party one.

Thanks guys smile

The Default A3 launcher is pretty good. Once you get your head around it.

At the upper right of the launcher, you can save a pre-set name. You can have multiple pre-set names and different mods loaded at one time. For instance, if you want to just run a Vietnam mod, you'd made the name Vietnam or something and then check the boxes with the mods you want loaded and save the pre-set. If you want a world war 2 mod set loaded, you'd save a preset and then click the mods that you want loaded. Frequently mod overalls like a WW2 or Vietnam mod change the default behavior of things like sounds/voices. You wouldn't want Vietnamese voices in the default Greek maps.

Since you have the Global Mobilization DLC, there is a tab on the left side, 'DLC'. Click that tab and make sure the Global Mobilization DLC is checked/activated. At the bottom left, there should be a blue button 'Play Mods & DLC On'. I would advise checking that when starting up. Sometimes the GM DLC gets turned off automatically, somehow.

It's generally best to not load more mods in your launcher if you don't need them. Increases loading times.
