Huh? Your posts make less and less sense with each passing day. No it doesn't. I am telling the folks who thought Game of Thrones is fantastic because of all the female nudity the show has to get a life!! I have seen Twin Peaks and the TV series based on it that lasted a few months 3 years ago before it got cancelled. Say what? Twin Peaks had two runs, the original early 90s run, and then the second run a few years back. The original run in the 90s is what the show is remembered for--the combined result of those two early seasons. This was an an amazing, surrealistic show with very memorable characters. The second run, well, that's another story. I'm still trying to make sense of what happened--but I will say that despite the weirdness(not nearly as weird as Eraserhead!), Cooper's character kind of grew on me in his broken, out of sorts, black lodge violated way. Maybe your problem is you're ridiculously left brained, and can't see the value of imagination and creativity. That's maybe why you enjoy documentaries. Perhaps you're hyper detail oriented and live in number soup, where your sock drawer is perfectly arranged, no two pairs touching one another, uniform spacing between each, with shirts neatly folded with the sleeves tucked in, slippers atop pajama bottoms and a nice pipe and tobacco placed gently on the dresser top, beside the TV remote which you placed carefully and accurately, so as to align it at a precise, ninety degree perpendicular angle to the dresser's edge. Of course, your comforter will be neatly turned for optimal re-entry the next evening, the television will be dusted clean and pure, not a single hint of tilt to either side, leveled and re-leveled as it was hung, and checked every month for precision. Could that be why you do not enjoy fiction? Because creativity knows no boundaries? The whirlwind mind of a creative spirit thrives in chaos and entropy, with their room in utter disarray and nonsensical arrangements of piles of papers and clothes and sordid bowls with spoons and half-drunk glasses of water and tea. Perhaps this level of nonsensical, organized, but purposeful method without comprehensible direction doesn't jive with your level, organized mind. Cool, man. Whatever floats your boat, enjoy your flavor of show. But don't knock those of us who do enjoy fiction. We don't simply like shows because of the nekkid gurls and strip club whores, or the smooth, sweaty skin and the lickin' of chins. We relish the madness methods painting crooked corners in dark, musky streets, and the sly fox fedora trenchcoat wearing figures skulking in the shadows, seeking to solve mysteries or wreak mayhem, or hop into a Tardis only to fling their doors wide open into our living rooms, out hopping a gaggle off elves and aliens who wonder in amazement at those odd, furry vibrating things in our laps that are otherwise known as cats. Ya dig?

NOFLY, nudity is all you hear aout concerning Game of Thrones? Who is it you're talking to? It's one of the best shows that has ever been aired, I think. I have to admit, your posts do cause me to wonder how old you are.

I'm a really fussy consumer of TV shows. I start many series and finish very few. GoT had me from the 1st episode to the last. The boobs were just a bonus.
EV's are the Devils matchbox.

Boardwalk Empire didn't grab me The whole American 1920's-1930's gangster genre is very hit or miss with me. I like "The Untouchables" and "The Godfather" parts I and II but everything else I've seen from the genre simply didn't connect with me.

I found it a very nice shot back at the past, and how prohibition law created the opportunity for smugglers, how smuggling evolved into organized crime and bred corruption, and how legislation evolved with it and the way how the gangsters responded. Like, early on they sell booze from ships to rowing boats at the three mile limit. So the limit gets extended to 12 miles. So they have to deliver the crates to the beaches (the opening credits). So the gangsters need to close the beaches while recovering the booze crates. At the same time they're using the land border, which makes Chicago grow, which breeds competition. Eventually they start buying the swamps around Tampa so they can sail all around Florida and then disappear in the Everglades to deliver the alcohol. And then of course, the Irish adventure, trading surplus Tommy guns to the IRA against Irish Whiskey. How young gangsters like Lucky Luciano and Meyer-Lansky discover that with tiny volumes of heroin and cocaine you can make just as much money as with a whole convoy of whiskey bottles.
And Boardwalk Empire, of course, has fantastic actors, and supreme production value with the sets and clothing style etc.

There is zero doubt about this statement. The show had a big budget and Martin Scorcese was one of the executive producers and he directed the pilot episode.
