Hi!
i am just installing Lomac platinum now - i installed LOMAC first and it runs great in windows 10 - though i see that the verson which comes in Lock On platinum is 1.01 - so will FC2 update it to the latest patched LOMAC - latest that is the final one

i know this is an old game but i prefer it to dcs just because of size and the demands of dcs and also i like slighly older games generally.

but i just want to know whether i can or should also patch LOMAC itself before adding FC2?

okay FC2 installed and runs perfectly fine, activated and all that

- but is it the case that i cant play as a german mig29 anymore? - only eithe rrussia or usa? also i dont like that now crimea is gone as a setting.

so my question also would be (hoping someone answers) - can i just patch Lomac up to 1.02 at least and still play it while also having fc2 installed?

Interesting... I still have the original LOMAC and FC2 installed. I kept LOMAC because, like you, I liked the Crimean peninsula as a theater setting.

Just now, (WIN7 x64) I was able to launch FC2, (1.21, I think) but I could not get the original LOCK ON to launch with any compatibility mode. Could have sworn it USED to work.. Pretty sure I had the Flaming Cliffs 1 installed but maybe not on this machine.

Ahhh.. thinking maybe I upgraded LOMAC with FC2 which kind of obsoleted the original install of Lock-On?

well mine seems good still - i just installed the 1.02 patch to Lomac and both it and fC2 work fine - this is a great relief and satisfying that i can enjoy really both these versions of Lomac now

I went back to my XP machine and both FC2 and LOMAC work fine. The LOMAC folder had a lot of files that my Win7 LOMAC folder didn't have including a Batch File that registered some DLL's. Might have to look at a reinstall, or copy over the directory from the XP machine. Been flying DCS world lately, in the F/A-18 and Harrier, so I don't know if I can regress back to LOMAC ..but my RETRO SIMMING flame burns bright smile

yeah i would like to fly the hornet in dcs but its just too expensive to get and i want to get heaps of teh aircraft - the viper, all the ww2 aircraft, the tomcat too, the carriers and new theaters - and then there is the issue of disk space, dcs world already was like 70 gig or so for me - i have since uninstalled it. Also i am a laptop gamer, having a fixed desktop is just not convenient at all, and so having less demanding sims is better for me too (though i can run dcs with moderately good settings on )

my retro sim interest is overall just too great that DCS is not something i feel i need to play at the moment -

also , and this is really just my quirk, i just really lose a bit of interest in games that have no physical box and content, - part of my enjoyment of the older games is the boxes and the manuals and other content
