He didn't look the same as in Alien. Look smaller and shorter in the rings movies. Are you trolling or being serious? I honestly find it difficult to tell sometimes with your posts.

That's sad, he's easily recognizable from some great movies. Very likable actor. Credits covering Fifth Element, LOTR as well as Alien would be enough to make anyone well regarded. Chariots was a long time ago! Parkinson's turns up more and more often it seems. I wouldn't have figured him for 88, but it's been a while since The LOTR/Hobbit movies.

RIP to a talented actor!
As it happens, I am a few days into my re-read of LOTR now, for the umpteenth time. Have to re-read it every now and then, it is such a wonderful literature universe. Every time I read the parts about Bilbo, I picture Ian Holm as he portrayed him.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

The Fifth Element has to be in my all time top 10 sci-fi movies. He was great in that,a fine actor.

Fifth Element was the first place I recall seeing him, prior to LotR stuff.

, but don't forget that he was also in "Time Bandits" and "Brazil." I need to re-watch both of these. It's been at least 15 years since I've seen either one.

RIP
He was a fantastic and underrated actor. One of those that got just got on with the job without a massive ego. A stalwart of the entertainment medium.
