I'll be buying this as well on release. It's a very highly anticipated space-based RPG. I hope it lives up to the same standards as Bethesda's other franchises like Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

I'll pass on Starfield at least until I can get it on sale at a later date on GOG. Best part of Bethesda's games of the last ~20 years has been playing around with mods, but they've been making it more and more difficult the last few games. I'll wait until I can play a version that's complete and that I can run without their constant updates that do nothing but break any mods I've installed.

I've just been chipping away at Elden Ring and playing probably too much Bannerlord.

Just finished the Dead Space remake today. This is a must have for any fan of sci-fi horror.

As for Elite Dangerous, I reinstalled it recently and played it for a few sessions but then uninstalled. It's a very good game but at around 1,800 hours of game time according to Steam I think it's simply the case that I've done everything with the game that I am interested in doing.

I have every helo module in DCS, and yet despite this and the juicy, high tech apache, I find myself spending by and far most of my time flying the Hind when I fly them online. She's fast, hard to tame, simple in function and deadly in capabilities.

I’m just now on the process of learning the new features with the KA-50 III. It’s sure is nice being able to carry 4 Igla’s for protection against other helos and aircraft.

In multiplayer those iglas are nice. Against the AI helos they just seem to bounce off, it's obnoxious. I've been flying the F5 on the Enigma Cold War server. Kinda fun, but without all your fancy radars and such it's a real pain to find anything.

The F5 radar is so bad, I don't even use it. It just makes me show up on everyone else's RWR. I just try to depend SRS comms.
I don't have the 21, waiting on the next sale to pick it up. I guess I could mess around with the two week trial, for me though, that's maybe just enough time to get my controls setup and get a handle on things.

The best part about the 21 is the IFF. Game changer for blind folks like myself who have a hard time picking out dots.

I have the MiG-21 but I’ve only put about 5 hours into it. One of these days I’ll delve into it…..

That's the problem* with DCS. It takes a while to learn a module and if you don't fly it for awhile it takes some remediation. Maybe that's just me though.
*maybe it's more of a double edged sword with DCS. The complicated modules are also kind of the draw.

I'd agree with that. At one time, I had the Ka-50 down pretty well. Now, I'd pretty much have to start all over again. I was flying the F-18 quite frequently and then stepped away from DCS for a number of months. It took a while to get back in the groove. I find I'll have to pick just one module and live with it, there really isn't time to get more than that down well enough to enjoy a good campaign or complex mission.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

At least we get a "free" module in DCS--the F-16, which requires zero time to learn, no matter how rarely one flies the plane. That is, if you put in the time over the last couple of decades in BMS/Falcon 4.0...

Yup, I went through this very same process a couple months ago and right now I'm learning the KA 50 III.

More F5 on the Enigma Cold War server. I don't think I belong there with my eyesight. Should change my callsign to MrMagoo.
