That makes sense considering how massive the Pacific Ocean is compared to the Atlantic! I totally get what you mean though. I used a LOT of time compression when I played my campaign in SH 4.

Last one I played a lot was Silent Hunter 4 (Pacific). I skipped on 5 because of all the technical problems and poor reviews it had on release.
Yep, played many hours of SH4 with one of the most popular mods of the time, I remember at some point my career stopped advancing and I kept being assigned the same cruise over and over.

Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts gives you a period not usually seen in Naval Sims. IIRC earliest campaign starts in 1899 and the latest the stat of WW2. I'm not really a fan of how research is done, but I guess it does add randomness.
I am also playing Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit 3 and Airborne Over Europe for my tactical combat fix.
Friends are here in mere hours so we will be playing Wits and Wager alongside Castle Panic. No one in these groups cares to play any ASL, AOE or Red Storm Aerial Combat Over Europe 1987! Maybe I can get 7 of them to join in for the excellent DIPLOMACY game (I found an old copy by Games Research circa 1964 at Goodwill - same game with better map and wood pieces instead of cheap s**t plastic navies and armies! )

Paused playing "Pathfinder - Kingmaker". The direction of the "Kingmaker" story was not "grabbing" me -- I don't want to "run a kingdom" -- I want to "save the world". They do have a means of "turning off" the daily grind of "running the kingdom"; so, I may get back to it.
I moved to "Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition". Very similar game mechanics (so far) but the story seems more in the "save the world" style.
So far, the underlying "Wrath" game engine and codes are nearly identical to "Kingmaker". Thus, modding has been easy, so far.

I'm really enjoying "Deathloop". If you guys liked the Dishonored games and you are craving a really great sci-fi first person shooter this game is perfect for you.

I've got a Factorio game going, and am dabbling in Total War Warhammer 3 at the moment. And I'm finding a few spare moments to brush up on my F-18 skills in DCS. They just released a new version of the 3rd party dynamic campaign program, Liberation, and I'd like to give it a proper go.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

Have there been any recent updates to Elite Dangerous? I stopped playing it a few months ago after putting in about 1,800 hours into it according to Steam. I just simply got my fill of the game and moved on.

The Starship Troopers IP needs to be fully retired and put out to pasture.

Update 14 drops today. I lately started playing a bit E:D again, out in the black, exploring around my carrier, somewhere east of SagA*, far enough to not be concerned of whatever might hit the bubble with this update Just ordered me a new 2TB SSD, as E:D and MSFS2020 currently eat about 70+% of my main M.2 500GB drive. I had to stop the latest MSFS2020 40years update, as it would have left me with ~20GB free space (or likely less once also updating stuff from marketplace) I don't feel like moving them to my HDD due to performance concerns, and the other smaller and older SSDs are already holding my steam library and other games...
Otherwise, I am slowly but surely approaching my 1 year "anniversary" in Genshin Impact, playing almost daily, at least for ~30mins to take care of some dailies and stuff...

I just ordered a new 1TB SSD a couple days ago. It became apparent to me rather quickly that my current SSD was not sufficient for all of my games. DCS alone takes about 250 GB!

And then, there are nut cases like me. No way to rationalize all my storage
But, I do use a lot of it in ways meaningful to me (e.g. virtually everything is backed up once or twice) that others might find wasteful.
I have on order an M.2 1tb SSD to be used exclusively for IL2 / DCS

Someone gave me a PC copy of Call of Duty, the first one from 2003.
I have never play any Call of Duty games.
I remember Best Buy near our apartment had the demo on a computer and we walk there to play that demo over and over and marvel at how fancy the computer the demo was on, was.
