Excellent developments and looking forward to the latest additions to your mods, Xjouve. Don't know if this thread is relevant/helpful to your tinkering with dromes at Saint-Masmes/Saint-Mard...

~ For my various FM/AI/FPS/DM Mods. for First Eagles 2, WoFF, RoF & WoTR, and tips for FlightGear, recommended is to check over my CombatAce profile (https://combatace.com/profile/86760-vons/) and to click on the "About Me" tab while there. ~

Excellent find! Thanks for sharing. smile

It tends to confirm my guess about Virton/Saint-Mard. Apparently, nobody thought about Saint-Masmes, but the hypothesis of a typo has also been been considered.

PS: I have the feeling this Mark66 is someone close to OBD ^^

Best Regards,
Xav.

I also came to the conclusion that there's a typo in the game, as German airfield 'Brullin-Higny' (WOFF Verdun) is highly probably 'Preutin-Higny'.

And the airfield was exactly here (according to the family of farmers owning the place, the encircled building was used to repair planes)

So, I'm going to relocate the drome and change its name (but not the ID, which should serve for Jasta assignment and target management)

EDIT:

Wait, wait, wait!! Does someone use this entry to add 'Boistrancourt Extension'?? It could very well be me, messing up in Excel.

EDIT2:

My bad frown

Does anybody know which unit(s) use 'Poperinghe' airfield in the game?

As far as I know, the airfield of Poperinghe was located near Abeele, which is already in the game under the name Abeele -which is correct-.

Czech Rep.
You can try following utitlity WOFF Encyclopedia 1.06. You can parse all airfields and check units stationed there at any date.

Mystery solved. Found out there was a drome closer to Poperinghe; so it is fine to have Abeele + Poperinghe both owned by BEF.

I also figured out that there is a 'Abele' elsewhere in Belgium, which corresponds to a missing drome in the game (used Jasta 26, 28 and 51). The authors of 'The Jasta Pilots' made a mistake by calling it 'Abeele' (the book reads 'Abeele, SW of Poperinghe', which is totally impossible) and I believe that's why OBD choose not to transfer the concerned Jastas in, as the same drome can't be on both sides of the front at the same time ^^

Xav.

At various times it was used by 6,19,29,65,70 Squadrons, RFC. It was not the same aerodrome as Abeele. It was on the road currently designated N308. If you check Google Maps, look for the road running north-west toward Proven. The field was just south of the small stream that crosses the N308, at the location of the modern-day "B&B Clogher Farm." There is an excellent 1918 map located at this link Poperinghe area aerodromes .

It shows the location of Abeele. Proven. La Lovie, and Poperinghe fields.
