Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

It does look very nice there. Is it just me, or are the photos upside down? Looks good here. Beautiful!
I occasionally canoe the bayous with my father (he also kayaks) and it's amazing how quickly you can move on calm water. I sit up front with a kayak paddle and provide most of the propulsion, father helps but is mostly our rudder.
Even with wearing weightlifting gloves, I always get bad blisters. Thanks Mark! It's also surprising how long you can just drift when you stop paddling, esp on calm water. I can see how you'd get blisters, but we don't stay out nearly long enough to get them. I have gloves but I wore them once and haven't had any trouble.

It does look very nice there. Is it just me, or are the photos upside down? Now this is odd. Using Chrome on my desktop, the pics appear upside down. On my IPhone using Safari the pics display correctly.

That looks very peaceful and calming for mind and body. I love being on the water.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

If I'm being completely honest, it was her idea. She has mentioned a few times over the last couple years. When our friends told us they were selling their kayaks (they only used them once) and all the gear for dirt cheap we jumped at it.

Nothing like paddling whether canoe or kayak. When do you graduate to one like this?
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Nothing like paddling whether canoe or kayak. When do you graduate to one like this? Never - looks like too much work to stay upright!
