Neil Young - released a new album in 2019

I Amazon sample listened and it doesn't resonate with me at all like "Harvest" does, one of my all-time favorite albums. But then none of these new albums do, at best a few listens and then forgotten. So either they lost their touch (as Keith Richards sings about on "Forty Licks" which I actually like) or I did. I figure it's more me. My acceptance of new music, even from old musicians, has died.

Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

You read my mind with this statement! While I do think that age has a significant impact on how receptive you are to new music, I also think that most if not all musicians and song composers have their creative height and then it either slowly or quickly fades away. The lucky ones have a creative height which might last 10 years or longer as was the case with Rush.

When I think of all the money I've spent on music over the decades (and on various media), the way I see it, I'm finished. I've done my part to support the industry and now have everything I want (with the rare exception of occasional old stuff that's new to me). Now let the younger generations have fun with it.

However, as soon as this virus thing is over, I'm back to my local venues to listen to my favorite live Rock (and sometimes Classical)! band Stay-at-home date nights are groovy enough (with predictable conclusion wink ), but the process can be tough...

"Ah baby, you look beautiful, but so does this 8-bit pixelated sunset I'm flying into while looking for Commies who want to take out my fleet!" biggrin

Dion DiMucci just released a new album. The same Dion of Dion and the Belmonts fame. Its a big collaboration with a lot of other famous musicians. Excited to listen to it, if I can set aside the time, lol.

Oh wow, now that is impressive! I'm still floored that Chuck Berry recorded an album when he was 89 years old. The album was released posthumously the following year.
