I finally have corresponded with ChiefWH and he has very kindly agreed to let me post a Dropbox link here for any of the Mods he created. ChiefWH literally spent months creating this map mod which is the first link I will post. So don't thank me for re-posting this. If anything give a shout out to Chief WH for all his hard work, as I suspect he may lurk here once in a blue moon and be quite pleased to know you enjoy his efforts. There are many more mods which ChiefWH created, but as of now my time is very limited to go back and check which are still relevant and which have already been incorporated into WOTR. I will check and post links to what I can, when I can, no promises on when. As you know I have another little project going right now that is keeping me RATHER BUSY. There is a ReadMe included in the Zip. Please read it as that is the reason it was included. Use JSGME to install this Mod. If you don't know how to use JSGME, make a post here and someone will explain it and get a download link for you.
So first things first, giving credit where credit is due is paramount in my book! So!

Thank you ChiefWH for creating this Map Mod for WOTR!
It is indespensible in my humble opinion.

You asked for it, so, while I maybe am not as smart as 33lima to figure how to do this, with a little scratching of my head, I have figured this out and added to ChiefWH's original mod. Now when you see the briefing screen during your Campaign, you will also see the higher resolution map. Of course the in game map will also be the higher resolution map as the original mod was intended. The original DropBox link has been updated, in the first post in this thread, to provide this new Upgraded Version of ChiefWH's original mod. Enjoy. yep

Cheers Blade_Meister - greatly appreciate the effort you made to track down ChiefWH and get his blessing. And a huge thanks to ChiefWH, for this exceptional mod. The loss of immersion I used to feel each time I consulted the map is gone. Wonderful work.

Maybe it's just me, but one thing I found was that when I installed this, the inflight map was the improved (and absolutely must-have) version, but the briefing map was the old, awful Solent-free one. I mentioned briefly how I fixed that in this post, which shows both briefing versions in the same post: https://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4517658/re-combat-reports-aar#Post4517658

Would be great if 33Llima's fix could be incorporated directly into the download so each individual person is not having to do it themselves. Cheers!

I wanted to help by reposting the links for the mods again, but this forum site (not the WOTR section) displays and promotes ideas of racism and white supremacy, and, by administrators and regular posters no less.

I will not be any part of this, nor turn a blind eye to it simply to 'promote' or 'support' my efforts on modding; some things are more important than computer games.

If I were OBD I would set up their own dedicated forum for WOTR and WOFF which didn't sit alongside a platform for white supremacist 'science' and ideology, but I'm not of course, so it matters not what I would do. But this time I will not be back again to this forum.

It is in the readmes. The only thing I would say is , 'use at your own risk' as many things in ChiefWH's mods were incorporated into WOTR or OBD made their own changes that either replaced or changed things so that these mods would no longer work. I have not had time to test to see what is what, so again, you may be lurking in a mine field here. Make backups before taking the plunge is all I can say. yep

I'm new. What makes this mod so good? Better textures? Bigger? Etc?

Welcome Racefans! Errr I mean Racingfan, this map has much better resolution and your position in game mirrors what you see on the map almost exactly. If you try the stock map you will see the poor resolution and that it does not reflect your position in game very well. Trust me, you want this one mod if no other.
