From what I read about the development of camouflage paints and the campaign in North Africa, they often used colors like pink and orange. They seemed to work almost as good as ochre or yellowish sand color during most of the day (and at night, duh), but worked much better at dusk and dawn hours, especially between first/last light and the end/beginning of nautical twilight. At a time when human eyesight was basically the only sensor available (other than listening for distant sound), this may have been the deciding factor. In addition, there was often a stunning scarcity of, well, about everything, resulting in a lot of improvisation. These days we have additional requirements of paints of military vehicles - must be non-glossy, easy to wash off NBC type contaminants, grease and oil resistant, with superior adhesive properties, slow to burn, etc.; maybe not every pigment works as well with the bases that meet these technical requirements.

Wonder if Dalton did Goldeneye would he have found the right balance. If I many interject, Moore was not the Bond Ian Fleming created. In fact Daniel Craig, Timothy Dalton played closer to the books (some of the authors who wrote after Fleming did a wonderful job), not a lot of humor an killing (body counts) was no problem. Sean Connery is THE screen Bond though. As for Sean Connery coming back to do Diamonds are Forever.....it was ok.....but Never Say Never should of never been made.... Bronson's last outing as Bond is the only one I have seen once and never watched it again. Moonraker.....the holy grail of Bond cheesyneess with Roger Moore but somehow it worked. Maybe because I just dont take it serious. Goldendeye was a #%&*$# good Bond flick....after the long hiatus it was good restart. Having spewed all that....I love watching the movies period. Always have.

Holy cow. It’s nice to see you again usa!
I’ll say it again: when it comes to the Roger Moore Bond films I thought they were the greatest thing when I first saw them as a kid. As an adult though? They are full of campiness and cheese with the exception of “Live and let Die” which keeps the cheese to a minimum. Hello my friend. I hope you are doing well. Same here, I was a kid during the Moore era and man they are campy....but I still enjoy them. Bond movies are a guilty pleasure and I watch them often.

Several months back my wife and I watched the series "Chuck" through. I was goofing off yesterday and ended up watching the first episode of the series again. It's pretty silly but a lot of fun. Sort of a modern version of "Get Smart". It's definitely something I could watch again. Yeah I come back to this one every so often too. It's fun, light, and easy to enjoy.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

Mark how in the hell are you? For someone mentally stuck in the 1980's, I guess I'm ok. As long as family resumes visiting after this virus thing is over, I figure they must consider me harmless, even if my front door is like walking through a time portal (or so I've been told). Physically I'm good, but will never be buff or intimidating enough to match your drill sergeant look. Hope you're doing ok.

The Brosnan Bond films are decent enough popcorn flicks but it's really true what many film critics and industry insiders say that the success of the Jason Bourne films changed everything for the spy genre and it was the driving reason behind why the producers replaced Brosnan with Craig. Today's audience would view the Brosnan films as being too "light".
To take another example, look at the evolution of the Batman movies. Back in 1989 the Tim Burton "Batman" was a big hit but today it would be laughed at as being very comic-booky and tongue in cheek.

The Haunting of Hill House. One of the creepiest haunted house stories I've seen. I'm about 6 episodes into it.

That Jason ruin everything. Just wannabe spy films. Of course, they are very heavy on the action part and rely on the main character's superhuman abilities. I gotta hand it to Ian Fleming: Bond was never described as physically superior. And not all of the gadgets were absurd. But when it comes to the investigative part, the chases, and the hand-to-hand combat, the Bourne films simply are superior in every way. They are still thrillers, of course, not documentaries. Less martial arts heavy and more light spirited in general is the Burn Notice TV series - highly recommended if you like the Spy Thriller genre.

Loved the first 4 seasons of that one The Man from UNCLE is also a spy flick I definitely recommend, when the whole movie theatre is laughing you know you did 'light-hearted spy thriller' correctly!
