Welcome back to WOTR - and I'm sure you will get lots of enjoyment from it, especially with the latest developments and also the several great mods. that have been released recently (including JJJ's Mission Editor and Multi Mod, for WOTR).
Largely as a novelty, I've also recently picked up the IL2-BoX (Battle of Moscow only, since I like the early WW2 'crates). It was on sale for less than 20 USD so I figured why not, the collector's ed. with the MC.202 and the P-40 - and I agree fully that it has no immersion when compared to WOTR. Then again, IL2-1946 also has less immersion when compared to WOTR, and the padlock view in '46 is abysmal when compared to the OBD sims.
Happy flying in WOTR,
Von S
Unrelated note: Those of you running AMD cards, stay away (for now) from the big 4.006 update for IL2-BoX (causes horrible terrain flickering, especially directly below the aircraft if flying low). Run ver. 4.005 instead, and make sure to run it directly via the sim's "exe," not via that horrible launcher that automatically updates to 4.006. I will probably zip up the launcher so that it doesn't "ring home" for updates, just to be on the safe side.
Thank goodness for the old-school way of doing updates in WOFF/WOTR.
