@VonS cheers for your continued work on modding and tweaking WOFF, also I love reading your reports great stuff mate.

@Albert yeah I've also read Cecil's book (really enjoyed it) your right about RFC 3 imagine been those poor sods flying those deep into 1917..madness. Yep I think Ernst goes in a few months doesn't he.

@Buckeyebob your cloud mods IMO are simply brilliant, they really enhance this already great sim to a new level..Thank you so much for your work it really is appreciated pal

More from my campaign flying for the French in Alsace. After a month or so flying Moranes we've been given Nieuports whoohoo

The poor Aviatik 'B's don't stand a chance, the 'C' types are obviously more tricky but I've managed a couple. What strikes me most flying around here is all the forest. God help anyone trying to make a forced landing around here.

I'm flying predominantly with Constantin Zarapoff, hopefully he'll behave himself when there's a target nearby and not get in my way. He's been ok thus far.

"A great deal of an aeroplane could be holed without affecting its ability to fly. Wings and fuselage could be—and often were—pierced in 50 places, missing the occupants by inches (blissfully unaware of how close it had come until they returned to base). Then the sailmaker would carefully cover each hole with a square inch of Irish linen frayed at the edges and with a brushful of dope make our aircraft 'serviceable' again within an hour."

Nice Albert and i bet the Nieups are a lot better than the Morane in those gusting winds, yep there's not many landings you'll walk away from around there mate

Thomas Muller Mission 10... 23rd Dec 1916 Habsheim airfield in the Alsace region..7:05am

Balloon busting over the lines in a early flight, It was a wet cold morning infact we'd heard the rain bucket down all night and i hardly slept a wink we took off and didn't encounter any enemy along the way..in fact the skies are unnaturally quiet.
Towards the target area the ground fire opened up with everything they had, i was hit a few times but managed to down the balloon we were in good spirits when we landed and i put my claim in witnessed by 2 of my Jasta..Claim denied, Christmas?? Bahh humbug.

Some great pictures again Adger, the one of the balloon looks so realistic it could be out of a book. Looks like your card's definitely marked at that Jasta it seems mate.

Yes the Nieuport is a joy compared to the Morane. It's flimsy and you certainly don't want to do much diving in it but it's head and shoulders above anything else around at this time (late September 1915).

Some lovely (if quiet) missions until one I've only just finished. I spotted a pair of enemy aircraft far below me, they stood out clearly against the backdrop of forest.

I got behind and glided down making sure not to pick up too much speed.

I timed it right and dropped beneath and behind the two seater and sent him spiralling down in flames.

I then went back to our home airfield of Fontaine for champers and Chateaubriand bottles

Beautiful screenshots guys!
...and idk, when I fly allied I fly almost exclusively Brit - though I like the french kites, by and large the cockpit visibility with them is not very good, with some far worse than others (*here's looking at you SPAD*).

A man after my own heart. I could have written that. One of these days I'll create a German pilot and try some of their kites but I just can't bring myself the join those dastardly huns.

Thank you all for the screenshots. I've snagged several of them and added them to my random background images.

My TrackIR kinda went wonky a few times whenever I tried looking to the left, but other than that this was a beautiful flight. Right to the bitter end, LOL

Dude... You are in another league when it comes to dogfighting. Wow. Knocked 3 Dr.1 aces from Jasta 11 like it was child's play.

Amazing!

Thanks chaps, yes you can make some wonderful pictures and videos using WOFF.

Hellshade the film is brill, I'm not a fan of the Fokker Triplane, it might have been MvR's weapon of choice but it ain't mine. It might turn on a dime but it's far too slow for 1918.

Great shot of you near the balloon, it looks like you're trying to do a 'Willy Coppens' and land on it. copter

I agree with the SPAD having a poor field of view, the Nieuports not too bad though.

I'm flying again this evening so will post more pictures then. mycomputer

That was some of the best flying I've done to date....right up to the part where I got killed. LOL wink

Thank you. Gotta fix my TrackIR, though. That left side blind spot was killing my situational awareness.

Yes, great flying and great vid capture too! You have things running beautifully. Re TrackIR - mine goes crazy when sunshine happens to reflect off the clip. I close the blind and everything is fine again.

Hellshade, is that the flak mod in use?

I got fired as the door man at a sperm bank.
Apparently it's in poor taste to tell leaving customers "Thanks for coming."

@Hellshade: I keep forgetting to ask. How do you do the smooth zoom to get a closer look at the planes? It's one of the things I find I need; but I've had to rely on mapping the step zoom in/out to two of my HOTAS buttons.

I don't have any mods for the zoom. I'm just using Stock PE for that. Mapped it to my top buttons on the joystick and I press multiple times fast. lol

Try this MAndrews see if it helps pal...go into workshops and then onto the key bindings..left click on the zoom in and out and it should show a advanced option ..click up twice until it shows 2 and that should give you smoother zoom thumbsup And great stuff Hellshade.
