AMD B550 Motherboards Announced: PCIe 4.0 Support for as Little as $100
companies are also about to usher in a slew of B550 boards (announcing today and going on sale starting June 16) for recent AMD processors that bring most of the key features (like PCIe 4.0 support) of the higher-end X570 platform that launched last year at lower price points that start at $100.
Those who like their PCs to run silently will also appreciate that B550 chipset doesn’t require support for active cooling.
you won’t get PCIe 4.0 support unless you install a Zen 2-based Ryzen 3000 CPU in one of these boards,
In short, you get PCIe 4.0 support through the CPU, delivering enough lanes for fast NVMe storage and the GPU. Also included is dual-GPU support .., along with a doubling of the bandwidth of the motherboard’s general-purpose PCIe lanes

AMD to announce Ryzen 9 3900XT, 3800XT and 3600XT on June 16th
AMD is set to launch Matisse Refresh processors. This is an extension of the existing Matisse Ryzen 3000 series with new SKUs. Yesterday’s story has turned out to be true only partially. Yes Ryzen 3000 Refresh is true, but the names shared in the story are not accurate.

Still at the "rumor" level:

AMD “BIG” NAVI21 GPU variants have been decoded
For the past year or so, we have been hearing about Navi Refresh. For a long time those rumors have been treated with a certain amount of skepticism, but as soon as AMD themselves confirmed that they are working not only on RDNA 2X but also RDNA 3X architectures, the puzzles have started to create a broader picture.
AMD is set to announce Big Navi GPU later this year. There are rumors that AMD and NVIDIA are both planning to launch their next-generation GPUs in September. This has not been confirmed, but it is a perfect time to announce new graphics cards. In September we also have Computex 2020, which has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The article describes the technique (which does make sense) and has a Video showing the results in a game type environment. There is still work to do, but things seem headed in the right direction.

AMD CEO Lisa Su is First Woman to Top AP CEO Pay Analysis
Lisa Su is the first woman to lead the AP's CEO pay analysis for the S&P 500, beating out all other CEOs with her healthy $58.5 million compensation in 2019. That's incredibly impressive
Su, who holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, has been largely credited for AMD's resurgence. Su has led the company back to profitability and competitiveness, earning multiple plaudits for her work along the way, including being recognized by Forbes 50 for being one of the top 50 world leaders

Intel Doesn’t Want to Talk About Benchmarks Anymore
At Computex last week, Intel CEO Bob Swan spoke about the overall state of the computer and technology industry,, He also called on the industry to move away from benchmarking and towards different metrics.
Evaluating Swan’s Idea on the Merits
Technology coverage should focus on positive (or even transformative) use cases rather than emphasizing benchmark results.
Of course, that’s why reviews have text in them in the first place, instead of just benchmarks.
Evaluating Swan’s Claim Against Intel’s Current Competitive Position
Every time Intel, AMD, or Nvidia drops behind in performance rankings, we can expect to see a discussion of whether the benchmark practices and tests reviewers currently rely upon are actually capturing what they need to capture.
Intel undoubtedly would like to de-emphasize benchmarking at the moment. Fortunately, it’s not going anywhere.

AMD RDNA 2 GPUs Coming To PC First, Next Gen Consoles Later – Big Navi ‘Halo’ & Mainstream Radeon RX Graphics Cards With 2nd Gen Navi Later This Year
The confirmation came in the Bank of America 2020 Securities Global Technology Conference where AMD's CFO, David Kumar, stated that their next-generation GPU architecture will be available on the PC platform before the next-gen consoles arrive.
The lineup would feature the Big Navi GPU which David has revealed to be a halo product that is going to be focused at the ultra-enthusiast gaming market... we might end up seeing Big Navi around the start of Q4 2020 or even earlier.
“Big Navi is a halo product”
“Enthusiasts love to buy the best, and we are certainly working on giving them the best”.
“RDNA 2 architecture goes through the entire stack“ "it will go from mainstream GPUs all the way up to the enthusiasts and then the architecture also goes into the game console products... as well as our integrated APU products."This allows us to leverage the larger ecosystem, accelerate the development of exciting features like ray tracing and more."

Lately, it has been reported on some sites that some motherboards overclock AMD Ryzen CPUs to above specification -- and may damage the CPU.
My motherboard automatically over clocks the CPU -- no need for me to do it. No problems either.
The attached very long technical article describes why this motherboard controlled AMD CPU overclock is NOT a problem.

Electromigration: Why AMD Ryzen Current Boosting Won't Kill Your CPU by Dr. Ian Cutress
motherboard vendors have been taking advantage of a setting on AMD motherboards to misrepresent the current delivered to the CPU. By doing so, they are able to increase the processor's power headroom, and ultimately allowing for higher performance at the cost of higher thermals. To be sure, this kind of tweaking isn’t new, but recent events have lead to no shortage of confusion over what exactly is going on, and what the ramifications are for AMD Ryzen processors.
In short, motherboard vendors want to be the best, and that often means pushing the limits of what is considered the ‘base specification’ of the processor.
Is My CPU At Risk?
To answer the big question right off the bat then, no, your CPU is not at risk. For regular users with enough cooling running at stock frequency, there is no issue to any degree that will matter within the expected lifetime of the product.

AMD B550 Motherboards Now Available For Preorder Starting at $115
AMD's B550 motherboards are officially due on June 16, however, you can start to preorder them at major retailers. With AMD previously stating that over 60 designs were in development,
Newegg has posted 25 different AMD B550 motherboards, spanning from big-name vendors, such as Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI
the accessible B550 models cost $114.99 with the high-end B550 models topping out at $299.99, which steps dangerously into X570 pricing territory.
I just finished a compact HTPC build using a GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS Pro WIFI X570 /Mini-Itx (the m-ITX version of my MB listed below). The MB was "only" $220. So, as they say, make sure the more expensive B550s are worth it. Parenthetically, we upgraded our main home theater TV significantly and, so, upgraded its HTPC. I deliberately "went overboard" on the HTPC specifications to allow for occasional Big Screen 4K gaming.

AMD Launches Ryzen 'XT' 3000-Series Processors: 3900XT, 3800XT, and 3600XT
In a shift from AMD's standard practice, the Ryzen 9 3900XT and Ryzen 7 3800XT come without bundled coolers, while the Ryzen 5 3600XT comes with a bundled Wraith Spire cooler.
AMD also announced that the new B550 chipset, which brings PCIe 4.0 connectivity to the mainstream, is available worldwide today. It will be joined by the A520 chipset that will debut with more than forty AM4 designs in August 2020.
The XT processors drop into any existing motherboard with a Ryzen 3000-ready BIOS, and offer drop-in compatibility with all 500-series motherboards.
Due to AMD's adaptive Precision Boost 2 algorithms, much of the Ryzen 3000 series processors' performance relies upon the capabilities of your motherboard and cooling

The AMD B550 Motherboard Overview: ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, ASRock, and Others by Dr. Ian Cutress & Gavin Bonshor
One of the main complaints about the AMD X570 motherboard line was the wide variation in pricing. As we reported in our X570 motherboard overview, covering over 35 motherboards, the variation in cost from the cheapest to the most expensive was quite eye-watering.

The delay in release of Cyberpunk 2077 RPG to November 2020 may help AMD GPU sales:
Quote
Cyberpunk 2077's delay means we've got a big decision to make: Nvidia Ampere or Big Navi?
AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs are a foregone conclusion, obviously.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed, which means we'll have to wait until November 19 to immerse ourselves in the criminal underbelly of Night City.
But which graphics card do you choose: Nvidia Ampere or AMD Big Navi?
AMD is convinced that it will get RDNA 2 graphics cards out of the door before the year's up, and Nvidia is rumoured to be readying a GeForce-grade RTX 30-series Ampere graphics card announcement this August, with a view to get these cards into the market in September.
The prestigious title of best graphics card may be hotly-contested come November, but there's one component we're sure will [win their battle]: AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs.

AMD Ryzen CPUs Retain Leading DIY Market Share In Japan Despite Launch of Intel’s 10th Gen Lineup
this share [data] is not specific to a single retailer but is based upon retail channel sales across Japan. The current statistics show that AMD Ryzen CPUs, especially the 3rd Gen Ryzen 3000 series have helped AMD retain a share of 67.4% during the previous month while Intel CPUs amount to a share of 32.6%.
Back in 2017, Intel was enjoying a huge market share of 83.9% in the same market while AMD CPUs only amounted to a share of 16.1%.
Despite Intel's best efforts, it looks like AMD's Ryzen 3000 CPUs not only hold the value proposition but also the performance crown.
we saw similar reports emerge from the South Korean market too where AMD breached the 60% market share
