My first post here on SimHQ so hello to everyone.

A bit about me, flight sim fan of course. A bit rusty in recent years but really trying to get into DCS. Started with the venerable FSII on a C64 mid 80's. Last sim played extensively was the World of Warplanes MMO. Favorite sim was US Navy Fighters (EA).

Ok well, the main reason for this post is to find out if I can get a Mach III with a PS/2 connection working with Windows 10. I don't think the Mach III was ever produced with a PS/2 connection, correct me if I'm wrong. I seem to have one that was released as an industrial controller (I think) by a german firm, megatron.de. Tried them but they weren't much help. An inexpensive PS/2 to USB adapter did not work. I'm reluctant to spend more for a converter unless I can hedge the bet a little.

Am I dreaming the impossible dream here you think or maybe there's a slim chance?

I can post pics if needed. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Internet
No idea about adapters.

Probable the "easy" solution is use an Arduino PRO Micro flashed with MMjoy2 firmware and DIY wire Mach II (???) buttons, pots in then, or a BU0836A.
I that way you are leaving Mach III as PnP USB joystick, using Windows native HID drivers.

You'll still need a driver that can translate the original protocol to a USB one.

I agree with Sokol, that is by far the easiest, cheapest and most realistic route to go though

Ok that does jog my memory now that I'm reading your suggestions. I recall some search results mentioning use of an Arduino for other controller conversion projects. Thank you @Sokol1 and @Vaderini for suggesting it's use might work in this case. It looks like there are a lot of videos on youtube and websites as well detailing how to make adapters/converters for other controller types like DA-15 and DB-9. I'm wondering if it would be easier or make more sense to get one of these other similar controllers (or a DA-15 Mach III hehe) instead. Opinions are welcome.

Thank you for the advice you've provided and quick responses, I appreciate your time!
