According to EDSM, I was last docked on March 27. I docked last night in Explorer's Anchorage just a stone's throw from Sagittarius A*. I repaired my ship - except for the paint. For some reason I want it to look like it's traveld 25k+ly at least for a little longer. I also swapped out the collector limpet controller for an AFMU. I was never in any danger of losing any modules, but I feel better knowing that's done. And the collector is useless right now!

I sold all my exploration data - I couldn't believe how long it took for the page to load! I almost logged out thinking it was bugged or something. When it finally came through, I wound up selling about 130m worth of data. Nice little haul but I was hoping for more. I didn't get to "Elite," but I did get through 29% of Pioneer. So hopefully the return trip gets me there. I'll have to scan more on the way home I guess.

So here's a few pics from the trip!
Here's that bad boy himself!

Here's another one - look at how the stars kinda ring the edge of the anomaly!
[Linked Image]

There are a couple of points of interest there too - there's the DSSV Distant Worlds.
[Linked Image]

And a beacon called, aptly, "The Centre"
[Linked Image]

Here's the hotel I'm staying at
[Linked Image]

The stars got far more dense as my trip went on. This is nothing, but you get the point.
[Linked Image]

Here's a cool gas giant with what I thought was a pretty big ring system, so I took a pic...
[Linked Image]

Here's a water world with a bunch of storms visible in the dayside hemisphere. Ice caps looked cool too. So many water worlds I've come across are actually ice worlds!

My God! It's full of stars!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Congrats JC!

I've only made the trip out to Sag A once but I plan on doing it again later this year.

Thanks! It's a long haul, don't know that I'd do it again. But I'm glad I did it this time.

Thanks! I don't know about "patience" - I was blasting through the last 20 or jumps by the time I was almost there! Probably missed some good bits in the process.

Grats, Johnny! As my esteemed colleague stated, patience indeed.

Welcome back commander. Mission accomplished. What's your max distance from start after that trip?

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

Good question! Where do I find that?

I still have the return trip to do so I’m not quite back yet....

Oh yeah, what was I thinking.

Max distance is shown in the exploration stats in your commander codex.

I'll check it out and let you know.

Just throwing it out there, but the AspX can do mulit crew. Anyone want to see Sag A* while I'm there?

I'll pass but thanks for the invitation.

After visiting Colonia my max distance went from 5077 to 21,938.

Sounds good. I'm gonna pack my stuff, take another look, and start the trip home soon.
If what I'm reading is correct, I'm going to need another ~150m in exploration data to hit Elite, so I'll make sure I do a bit more scanning than I did on the way out.

On the way out, I went about 1,500ly or so and turned right and went another 8-10kly (?) to get to the nebula I wanted to visit. I was still 15-20kly away from Sag A*,
so a straight run home should get me here a little faster even with me scanning more often.

Oh - I took a look in the Codex and my max distance is 25,857.

Yes, I followed your progress on EDSM. It shows the positions of all of my Elite friends. I saw the route you took outbound.

That's a proper max distance. Well done sir.

Thank you! Though ~22k is nothing to sneeze at either.

I didn't know you could that on EDSM, though I haven't played with much of the site.

I did pull up the POI visitor list just to see myself listed as having visted Sag A* though.
