. hee hee - good point Raine. The devs need to come up with something more generic that connotes a new level of greatness. How about "WOFF: Extreme Edition", or "WOFF: Vanguard Edition", or "WOFF: Maximus Edition". No wait, I have it - "WOFF: Excalibur Edition". Oh yeah, that's the one! . WOFF Iridium Edition to be followed by: WOFF Adamantium Edition to be followed by: WOFF Vibranium Edition
SALUTE TO ALL!

Pol, I see some effort’s been made to make night navigation easier with the lights in windows etc. Will we see Fee night operation? Or perhaps some new Nachtflugzeug type?

We are so beyond WOFF. It should be something like WOWF - Wings Over Western Front. (It also works for Wings Over Whizzing Flares)

I'm the poor guinea pig who is testing the new upgrade for quite some months now.
Honestly, as I told to Winder, actually this upgrade has so many new things and improvements, it could be content worth at least two upgrades. It is in many ways like a new game. There is lot more coding implemented to have more features in the squadron, to raise immersion even more. Literally everything has been improved or is completely new. Be it improved and additional sounds (my humble part), completely overhauled scenery, new and improved objects, smarter AI, new more immersive cockpit for the player, with the new visual and audible clues (they are doing an amazing job), improved airfield ambience etc. Countless more things.
Flying above frontlines, above towns or villages was a joy already, but now it has reached a whole new level. Flying in formation, watching and hearing the others around you - it never looked more realistic. A roaring formation, each indidividual fighting the elements, makes you feel invincible. The fight which occures when clashing with other formations sometimes simply makes me watch in awe, probably similar to back then when people on the ground witnessed huge furballs in WW1. Pol and Winder are working day and night and you are going to love it even more than before.
The only thing missing is me, as a player, wearing thick scarfs and cloths and smelling the burnt fuel and oil in my nose. :-)

Creaghorn, thanks for all the work you’re doing. It sounds like you hate your job. I was willing to wait after Pol’s announcement, but now you’ve done it with your description of new WOFF’s impressions and it will be difficult to wait till the new year.

With all the mentioned changes, this seems to push this gem even closer to a complete perfection!

There's so much in the sim now really is too many features overall to list - new features and changes we are around 90+ now. Even the list we have forgotten to add some new items. We'll have to have a good think A ton of night missions in there already such as the night Gotha raids to London, and in the next WOFF we have adjusted many of the missions - dawn patrols may now start in darkness as the sun comes up. So you may likely do more night missions in FE's or anything else for that matter. Here's another selection of some of the changes - I may have posted one or two before (I haven't checked); 'Trainable gun' Gunners are now only inhibited by rate of pitch/roll change and G Force - not static Pitch/Roll Trainable gunners now park their guns if there are no longer any targets Revised Random Number seed (should help for example with more consistent failures Aircraft when on "Go Home" now 'climb' if on enemy side of lines and damage is < 30 % Fighters now break off attack and leave targets that are severely damaged and/or too low Trainable Guns now no longer target minor targets Buildings and Tents Trees whatever Fighters will no longer try to engage other aircraft that are a lot higher up in altitude than them (opponent alt difference/range dependant). Fighters will now do regular checks on morale and if they should continue - as it is in WOTR Observer head animations - he will scan for enemies etc - (no currently he will not sit down/stand up) Update: Ability in most 2 seaters to see an indication the observer is dead - now indicated by his head dropping. Also he is visible from external view as before. ....

A lot of goodies there Pol. I am intrigued by this one: Fighters now break off attack and leave targets that are severely damaged and/or too low
Does it mean that if you set the enemy plane on fire, your wingmen will not try to "finish it off" for you?

Thanks, OBD! I am aching to see the graphics and AI improvements. Any word on additional flyables? No pressure!

Does it mean that if you set the enemy plane on fire, your wingmen will not try to "finish it off" for you? Not necessarily, we haven't tested that side of it but in theory it could do that.
