I have the same thing with Rome Season 1, although Kerry Condon plays a part in that as well.

Ah, the sheer amazing scenes in that one. From Caesar losing his calm in Egypt, to the last friendly scene he has with Brutus, everywhere absolutely stunningly made and acted.

I can't dispute that statement one bit! Sure, a lot of the funding came from HBO but the creative part was almost all entirely UK based. I know the show did use quite a bit of the local Italian talent for the production design and costume design.

A LOT of actors have played Julius Caesar and Mark Antony on screen over the past 100 years or so but for me, Ciaran Hinds and James Purefoy ARE Caesar and Antony.

If you don't have it in your collection I highly recommend the Director's Cut.

One of my favorite scenes in it is when Maximus confronts Octavius.
