Sorry, Panzer, I just checked back in here...

My wife has worked for the local underground water conservation district for nearly 20 years. She's been the assistant manager for over five years. She deals with geology every day, but she's had an interest in it since high school. She got the degree partly because it would help her do her job better and partly just to say she had done it. She did the courses on-line and some of them nearly drove her over the edge. I'm proud of her for accomplishing this!

I can relate to that for sure. The only class I have dropped since I started back to not fail was my science required "earth science". Then I found out it was Geology with a mad prof who pretty much expected me to memorize about 1/3 of a BIG book! Took biology instead for my science requirement.

I tried for a month and bailed. I have also had my share of stress...

Had to chuckle when I just got this email:

Congratulations on earning an excellent grade in CGS1515-2282!

Your efforts qualify you to take the Microsoft Office Specialist MOS Excel 77-727 Certification exam.

This Certification is a widely recognized in business and would be a great item to add to your portfolio and of course your resume'.

Great teacher, so I emailed him back a politely said I learned far more than I expected, but I just don't have a need for that certification.

HUGE difference in getting an "A" in an online class and sitting down cold at an exam covering everything excel can do.
