LOL Love your last post NoFlyBoy.

I'm pretty sure Blastman meant "Alien" but I also agree that "Aliens" is a perfect cinematic experience as well.

I also agree that in retrospect, the Alien franchise should have ended with Aliens. Everything else after that ranged from mediocre to terrible. "Prometheus" could have been so much more but Damon Lindelof's script was an utter mess.

Thank you PanzerMeyer. Prometheus and Alien: Covenant making me scratch my head. Also don't forget Alien: Resurrection. That was horrible.

Covenant had a ton of problems and I'm glad I didn't bother wasting money and time to see it in the movie theater. At least it had music from my all time favorite composer Richard Wagner.

Resurrection unfortunately I saw in the movie theater and the movie was an embarrassment. The only redeeming quality of that movie was Brad Dourif.

Fox should had let Neil Blomkamp make his Alien movie instead of bringing back Scott for 2 stinkers. Now it seems the rest of the Scott 's future Alien films are in doubt. https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/30/16832874/neill-blomkamp-canceled-alien-sequel-movie

Back to Alien and Aliens, they should be viewed in the Director's cut if you haven't.

Last movie I saw?

I got the James Bond complete DVD box and started at first one.

Watched Doctor No and From Russia With Love and Goldfinger.

Thunderball is next.

Sean Connery is the only James Bond.

Sure Moore and Brosnan and Craig were good but there is only one Sean Connery James Bond.

His Bond is cool as an ice cube.

Lazenby: whose idea was that? There were not better actors at the time? Where was Moore?

Dalton don't feel like Bond the Secret Agent to me. Maybe just a stupid policeman in the words of Doctor No. I also can't get past his overbite and big chin.

Best Sean Connery Bond moments.

I actually found Alien 3 the Assembly Cut to be very watchable. I don't really dislike any of the Alien films to be honest and that includes Prometheus, although it wasn't until I watched the Paradise Edition that it made a little more sense.

I had an ex-girlfriend who absolutely was addicted to those Hallmark romance movies. It can't get any cheesier than that.

Hilarious.

This is on Netflix now. Belgian mini-series. My reaction is MEH. The characters look very cliche.

The premise for "Into the Night" is quite moronic.

Dalton is a very good actor but his two Bond films failed because audiences at the time wanted more of the "tongue in cheek" style Bond that Roger Moore made so well known. It wasn't until 2006 when "Casino Royale" was released that audiences demonstrated they wanted a dark and brooding Bond. I have no doubt that the huge success of the Jason Bourne films was a factor in that.

Looking at that commercial, I can tell it's very predictable. One of the YouTube comments was right on the money, just fly to Antarctica.

I had never heard of Blacklist on Netflix.

Pretty good, at least for stuck at home me.

Was watching "This country" earlier this week. Observational 'fly on the wall' comedy show in a low key style, more realistic than the UK "The Office" but of similar type, or "Spinal Tap" or something on that line.
Follows two cousins 20 somethings who drift aimlessly in a rural village in the cotswolds where there is little to do and they try to hold on to their happy childhoods in the face of boredom and stagnation. It is a mockumentary, but there is a serious point as well as the erosion of local industry/agriculture the pricing out of locals by Londoners with their second homes, or commuters from larger towns nearby, and a failure to keep younger people engaged with their communities.

Don't get me started here. But compared to these, and some the later Predator movies, Alien³ was solid gold.

Watching all the Bosch seasons on Amazon right now, finished season 4 yesterday. Very solid cop thrillers. I likle shows where the case needs a full season to be resolved, rather than the formulaic 42 minutes. Can't stand those anymore.
