I have two that come to mind:
1. "Xanadu" - How can you go wrong with ELO and vocals by Netwon-John?
2. "Across the Universe" - The Beatles. 'Nuff said!

The "Xanadu" soundtrack is definitely one of my all-time greatest guilty pleasures (from old guilty pleasure pic)...
Wife actually enjoys the movie, whereas I rank it a 4-shotter (by comparison, it takes 5 shots for me to sit through "Labyrinth" - David Bowie).
++++++++++
I didn't think "Footloose" was that bad of a movie, if very teenage 80's. But the night of release (Friday Feb 17, 1984) was a life changer for me (after movie, chance encounter in theater lobby, first real conversation, the stalking chasing was over).
The soundtrack however, kicks ass IMO...

It's REALLY odd for me to see Donald Pleasence with hair.

Maximum Overdrive is not a musical.
And yes, the movie is pretty much universally panned regardless of the great AC/DC songs in it.

...and the most fun you can have trashing a theater (from 2016, we see it about every other year)...

Now we're talking Mark! And I fully agree it's a campy cheesefest but the music really stands out.
