Having said that , I'll probably at least check out the pilot episode.

While this is going to sound sexist, it seems to me that the whole, female hero kicks everybody's butt, thing is getting a bit overdone. Hollywood is overcompensating for all those years there were no strong women in films. So now they've gone in the other direction. Now, the president is a tough woman, the general is a tough woman, the team leader is a tough woman. I'm sorry, but those scenes where a 5 foot, two inch girl sends a six foot two inch guy across the table with a punch is getting old for me. Just my nickel.

I agree 100% Pooch and it's not sexist at all. Hollywood is extremely self-aware and it has now reached absurd levels of contrivance.
And this flawed perception by many in the public that strong female characters didn't exist in the past is laughable. I guess they've never heard of Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley, Wilma Deering, the female Viper pilots in the original Battlestar Galactica, etc, etc!

I could not agree more. And, for all their plethora of women in male roles, these movies and shows often have few female characters or plots that actually interest most actual women viewers. One of the things that turned my wife off about SW:TROS, for example, is that Rey did not end up married or even a serious romantic relationship with either Ben Solo or Fin.

I’m not surprised by the cancellation. Everyone I know who watched the show only had negative things to say.
