This popped up on my Youtube and thought it interesting. I've never heard of this aerodrome but apparently its been in operation for 60 years or so. There's some really cool old aircraft in this. I'd loved to go to an airshow like this. The video is also shot very well and is good quality.

I’ve been there. Wonderful place. They allow you to wonder around and have almost complete access to all the hangars. You can go in and see airplanes in various stages of build/maintenance. Wonderful to see some of the really old stuff running and flying.

Well worth the visit.

A friend of mine used to live nearby and went there often. I'd love to visit myself some day.

I just looked up some info on them and they are located in Red Hook, NY which is straight up the Hudson River north of the NYC area. Population of Red Hook is just over 11,000.

It's on my bucket list. The Shuttleworth Collection in the UK is wonderful as well https://www.shuttleworth.org/the-collection/ vintage aircraft and autos. You can walk right up to them and chat to the mechanics working on them. A grass strip with regular flying.

I just checked out the link you posted and I would most definitely be interested in visiting that place! It's right up my alley. smile

I posted this in another thread a while back, but figured since we're posting about WW1 and aerodrome shows, you might enjoy footage from this airshow in 1992 that my Dad took my brother and I to:

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is about 2 1/2 hours from my home. Was going to take my 10 year old son there this summer.
Doubt it will be possible. Maybe next year.
